Revdex.com Representative:
The resolution of this complaint Feedback by ***/G Loomis is further proof to me as a customer of how this company tries to make a customer frustrated so that I would just give up trying to have a resolution fair to a customer! (This Warranty Claim started in May of 2016)
In talking to Sporting Goods Stores owners/managers I was basically told “ GOOD LUCK” and “laughed at” for a response! One Manager said “Old Loomis would have rolled over in grave if he knew how G Loomis Customers where being treated today, compared to how he set up the original warranty!”
When they responded that they had tried to contact me and that they could not get a hold of me, it was a one time shot, I gave a answer that with call forwarding on my home/cell phone that my cell carrier had NO Calls from ***/G Loomis to my phones(s)! They also said that they had no call where I had been left on hold for thirty minutes (ALL CALLS TO ***/G LOOMIS are taped by ***/G LOOMIS) (verified by Fishing Manager at Scheels, who was present when this happened, Fishing Manager provided phone # to call ***/G Loomis that I made in his presence!) (Convenient!, but they mysteriously had proof of call(s) to me that where not answered by me!)
The offer made to me to buy another ***/G Loomis Rod as a replacement rod for the G Loomis Rod in need of repair/replacement at WHOLESALE price was a slap in the face to me as a customer and also a slap to the retailer, because ***/G Loomis is just selling me a rod at NO EXSPENSE (same price they sell to retailers) to ***/G Loomis retailersI see why Retail Sporting Good shops are feeling they are taking the wrap for present day ***/G Loomis Warranty Procedures!
The G Loomis Rod had always been stored in a Hard/Zippered case when not actually in use, thus not receiving any undo damage because of weather/storage damage! When I had the G Loomis Rod ends compared by a rod maker after I received it back from ***/G Loomis, he stated that the ends did not match at the break point, (he showed me this under a large magnifying glass! = “obvious to the layman`s naked eye”!!!)I do not know what kind of tests that ***/G Loomis did on my rod, but this Rod was not sent back to me in original shape I had sent it to them?
Since ***/G Loomis was not the owner of G Loomis at the time of my purchase does not relieve them of what was represented by their representatives at the time of sale, if they feel they can change how warranty work is handled in the present time frame and not feel any responsibility, this not acceptable!
Please tell me why I should not expect ***/G Loomis to not change warranty rules to their favor in the future! I feel *** is getting themselves a BAD REPUTATION because of how they are handling these Warranty Claims of G Loomis Rods! *** * * * *** *** ***
PS: Thanx to the Revdex.com representative for nice handling of this call about the Complaint about *** (Revdex.com please contact if you have any further questions) (PLEASE POST on your Revdex.com Website)

Mr*** sent me an email on 4/with the same information on his rejectionI had our Warranty Manager contact Mr*** to review the issueMr*** states that the reel seat is broken away from the blankDuring our evaluation of the rod initially we noted that the reel seat was glued tightly to the blankWe have requested that Mr*** send the rod back to GLoomis, at our cost, so that we can re-evaluate the rodWe hope to have the rod back in the next few days to evaluate

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
In the response from GLoomis there is no response to the fact that the rod was sent back with non-matching ends for rod at point of break (had rod inspected privately, told by inspector that this rod does match and could not be same rod as sent to GLoomis!)
Told by GLoomis rep that I would never have to buy a another rod in my lifetime (to original purchaser), that was why rod was so expensive at time of purchase compared to other rods on market.(told by GLoomis they cannot give manufacture date on my rod because it has no production code/date, to old!)
The incident of me being left on hold for over minutes (as witnessed by fishing manager at Scheels, Fargo, ND store) demonstrated that they where trying to use ignoring/denial of my complaint by trying to frustrate me through these type of tactics, to give up my request for fair/impartial treatment
The incident of them claiming I hung up on a Supervisor was actually that the Supervisor said we are going to have no more further discussion on this subject and I was disconnected by GLoomis!
About GLoomis trying to call me: My telephone automatically trips to my cell phone when not answered by residents or answering machine at home address and NO records from cell phone carrier of any calls from GLoomis in their records for dates that GLoomis claims*** ***

What a ridiculous story

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
I bought this rod in The warranty starts from the time customer purchased the product, not from the time the product was manufactured
Regardless of production/purchasing date, I bought the rod with lifetime warranty The manufacturer promised "warranty against defects in workmanship and material for the lifetime of the original ownerShould damage occur due to a defect, G.Loomis will, at the company’s discretion, either repair or replace the product at no charge." The is/was no provision about cork handle to be excluded from warrantyThis is an indication of bait and switch tactics company is employing I bought Medium-Heavy salmon rodIt must be designed to handle fighting big fish (salmon), so reel must be well tightenIt looks like the cork used was not strong enough or was not reinforced - bad design.
It appears that company is trying to convince the customers that defects should appear withing first year from the product purchase dateIn that case, why company is charging for lifetime warranty against materials defects and craftsmanship
I am not accepting company's response
Sincerely,*** ***

GLoomis has always had a Limited Lifetime Warranty, not an unconditional warrantyThe rods are covered against defects in materials and workmanship, not wear and tearA rod from would not break from a material or workmanship defect years later
I verified with customer service supervisor that she tried calling customer and she verified that she had called and there was no answering machine picking up.
The rod returned to customer is the same rod that we received at the factory based on information from the processing department
We apologize if a representative misstated the warranty coverageThe warranty has always been on our website and catalog

We received a broken rod from this customerWe looked at the rod and determined it was not a defect in materials or workmanshipThe break had scratch marks 2" from the tip so we believe the rod was hit on somethingWe called the customer and informed him of this and said we would replace the rod
for $utilizing our Xpeditor Service but he was not happy so we offered it at $and he still did not want do it instead wanted his rod shipped back to himWe have replaced two rods at no charge for this customer in the past
We do not have a Unconditional Warranty but a Limited Lifetime Warranty that covers defects from materials and workmanshipThis is the same warranty that we have had since inception in

We received the rod back from Mr. [redacted] with the tip top ceramic piece missing - which we waived the $10 fee covered at no charge. In his note it also mentioned that the reel seat had started cutting through the cork. Our repair department evaluated the rod and found that the cork damage was not...

covered under warranty.  The rod has a Production Code of "KA" which means that it was built in November 2005, which means the rod is over 10 years old. The rod has been well used over the past 10 years and a warranty break occurs it will normally break within the first few times the rod is used, this rod has been used heavily for a long period of time. The G. Loomis warranty has been the same since the company started, we have a Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in workmanship and materials for the lifetime of the original owner. Damages due to neglect, accident or normal wear and tear are not covered under warranty.  Please let me know if you have further questions or need clarification.
