Multiple Warranty Claims
I have three Warranty Claims with G Loomis. First was a ten year old IMX spinning rod that the reel seat became malformed over time: free replacement was sent. Second was a new rod that snapped on a hook set: free replacement, third was a rod I broke by mistake: $130 to replace it. Every warranty claim was resolved with one phone call.
They stand by their products, and take care of their customers.

GLoomis has a Limited Lifetime Warranty not an Unconditional WarrantyThe returned rod was years old and well used, it was determined that it was not a break due to a defect in materials or workmanshipThe rod near the break had hit marks about 5" from the tip which we deem as the reason the rod broke Following is a timeline of the interactions with customer: 7/7/16– Rec’d broken rod [redacted] with a jagged break with hit marks on the rod 5” from the tip of the rodRod is old enough that there is no production code on it, customer says he purchased it in we launched the rod in – so years agoRod was inspected and determined that the break was not due to a defect in materials or workmanship so a replacement rod would be offered for $for a [redacted] IMX which has a higher MSRP than the original rod 7/7/– Called and left voice mail on ***’s phone at Scheels 7/21/– GLoomis warranty department sent letter to Scheels letting them know that the rod was not covered under warranty and why, requested response if customer wanted to pay $for a replacement rod 7/29/– Customer called our Customer Service department and disputed the chargeThe customer service rep forwarded information for supervisor to call customer Supervisor called customer and the phone rang repeatedly and there was no answer or a recorder to leave a message on 8/4/– no response from letter dated 7/on whether the customer wanted to pay the fee for a new rod so the rod was sent back to Scheels 8/5/– Was requested to call customer again – called at 9:03am and it rang times then nothing - no recorder 8/8/– Called again and the phone continued to ring and no recorder to leave messagePhone rang times 8/30/- Customer called and stated that we never contacted him and we tried to explain that yes we had tried to contact him but no answer on the phone and no recorder to leave a message, customer got upset and hung up on the customer service representative Customer called back and the customer service representative went over information with the customer againCustomer stated that he should not have to pay anything because a rep years ago told him we had an unconditional warranty, which we have never had an unconditional warranty Current Website Warranty Statement G.LOOMIS LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY - North America GLoomis rods are covered by a limited lifetime warranty against workmanship and materials! •The GLoomis factory will inspect the rod to determine cause of breakage and whether it will be covered under warranty or not •For "damage" determined to have occurred due to defect, GLoomis will, at the company's discretion, either repair or replace the product at no charge •Damages deemed to be the result of neglect, accident or wear and tear will, at the company's discretion, be repaired or replaced for a specific fee •A full estimate will be provided for your approval before any fees are levied Warranty Statement GLoomis Limited Warranty Every GLoomis rod, rod blank and reel is covered by a limited warranty against defects in workmanship and materials for the lifetime of the original ownerShould damage occur due to defect, GLoomis will, at the company’s discretion, either repair or replace the product at no chargeDamage resulting from an accident, neglect, or wear and tear will, at the company’s discretion, be repaired or replaced for a nominal feeNaturally, you will receive a complete estimate before any repairs are performed

We received the rod back from Mr [redacted] with the tip top ceramic piece missing - which we waived the $fee covered at no chargeIn his note it also mentioned that the reel seat had started cutting through the corkOur repair department evaluated the rod and found that the cork damage was not covered under warranty The rod has a Production Code of "KA" which means that it was built in November 2005, which means the rod is over years oldThe rod has been well used over the past years and a warranty break occurs it will normally break within the first few times the rod is used, this rod has been used heavily for a long period of timeThe GLoomis warranty has been the same since the company started, we have a Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in workmanship and materials for the lifetime of the original ownerDamages due to neglect, accident or wear and tear are not covered under warranty Please let me know if you have further questions or need clarification
