This company has the worst customer service. I took over bill payment after my father was in an accident and due to the bill being late, representatives gave me nothing short of a hard time paying the bill. I had set up a check to be mailed from my bank that was not received by EnergyUnited on the day the bank stated it was delivered. I said I would pay with my card but asked that specific check not be processed because I would stop payment with the bank, since I had an additional check for the next payment already on the way. The customer service rep and supervisor refused and said any check received would be processed (even if I have made a credit card payment) and would be charged any return fees. This is insane! I have tried for two days, calling nonstop to get this taken care of. The company wanted their payment but didn't want to wait an additional day for the check to arrive or disregard that check if I immediately made a credit card payment. I have never experienced a company that was just unwilling to help their customers. I personally do not receive the bills and was just trying to get this account up to date and taken care of. This is not how you do business with people- especially other businesses. I am beyond frustrated and disappointed after being on the phone all day, emailing proof of payment from my bank, and even asking bank representatives to contact Energy United directly- nothing was good enough. I felt helpless and bullied by the supervisors I spoke with.
