G. Squires Plumbing Inc Reviews (3)

November 20,2014 Revdex.com Case#[redacted] G. Squires Plumbing, Inc. This letter is jn reply to a complaint received by our company on November 18, 2014. On October 2,2014 G. SquiresPlumbing, Inc. was hired by [redacted] (the...

current owner at that time), forplumbing repairs at [redacted] Our understanding was the home was going to loanclosing on Monday October 6,2014, and theplumbing repairs had to be completed, inspected, and approved by  a certifiedVeterans Administration Inspector (V-A) before the new homeowner could takepossession. On October 3, 2014, we wereable to complete and test (home on well water} the plumbing tasks assigned. Ourassignments are outlined in the invoice submitted. The total cost of plumbingwork for these tasks were $261.92. All plumbing work performed received a FINAL INSPECTION andAPPROVAL from the V-A INSPECTOR, prior to loan closing, therefore no issueswere found on the work performed. On October 17,2014, approximately 2 weeks after these issueshad been repaired, tested, inspected, and approved, G. Squires Plumbing, Inc.received a call from the new homeowner stating that [redacted] was trying to deliverand install a washing machine. The homeowner stated [redacted] would not install thewashing machine due to a leak. In order to accommodate the homeowner, G.Squires Plumbing, Inc. set an appointment to revisit the home. If the newlyinstalled rubber washers were the problem, it would be a quick easy fix. Uponarrival at the above address for the scheduled appointment, no one was home oravailable. A business card was left on the door. Once receiving the businesscard, the homeowner called again leaving a message and upon G. Squires Plumbingreturning the call, again the homeowner was unresponsive. A few days past andno other contact was received. Upon receiving the Revdex.com complaint, we noticed the amount of damagesthe owner claims he has incurred is $673.11 for plumbing. This total is acombination of invoices which is not all plumbing work. The plumbing work forall repairs totaled $261.92, which included all 4 areas of plumbing repair.Noted on invoice. The only area the homeowner stated as a problem was mentionedby [redacted] while trying to install a washing machine. The only work the V-Ainspector asked to be performed, as part of the original repair, was the 2washers to be replaced in the washer box, the 2 washers were replaced with newwashers and tested, at which time there were no leaks. The second invoice in the amount of $411.19 from [redacted] hadnothing to do with plumbing work. [redacted] submitted invoice. It isunclear in the owners written Revdex.com claim what plumbing work he had an issuewith. The $314.00 he claims as damages is undocumented and if there was a leak,as he stated to us, and found by [redacted] upon the installation of a washingmachine, it is unclear if the current owner tried to install machinery, atwhich time, damage may have occurred. Or ifupon attempted installation of the washingmachine from [redacted], the damage occurred. The Master plumber is not able todetermine if any damage was done after the fact by the homeowner or homedelivery company of appliances. We understand, in order for the loan to even reach the closing stages, the newhomeowner had to do a final walk thru and approve all repairs. In addition, allwork performed for the previous owner received a final inspection and approval by the V-A Inspector prior to loan closing -therefore no issues werefound on the work performed, The owner should have received a copy of theapproved inspection report by the V-A inspector as part of his closing package. Consumer satisfaction is a top priority of G. Squires Plumbing,Inc. and the work we perform is in a professional manner in which uponcompletion was tested and revealed no leaks. This was verified by the final inspection by the V-A inspector prior to closing on thepurchase of the home. Asa customer service issue upon the new owners concerns, we agreed to look at theissue, however the owner was non-responsive therefore we could not inspecttheir concerns.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. To be perfectly clear. Squires Plumbing did NOT show up to any "scheduled appointment" never left a card on the door and was a no call no show to both appointments. We did in fact have a washer machine delivered and attempted to be hooked up but the installer noticed the leak prior to installation. The first "scheduled appointment" was on Saturday October 11th "at some point in the day" is what I was told from Squires Plumbing. My wife and I were at the house all day painting and I called multiple times from my cell phone and got no response. I called Squires Plumbing from a different phone number and low and behold they answered. Again, we made an appointment for Friday October 17th which I had to take the day off of work to meet Squires Plumbing. The day of the appointment I called from my cell phone and there was no answer. A few minutes later my wife called from her cell phone number and they answered. WOW! My wife asked when they would be showing up and she was told around 3pm. Around 3:30 we each attempted to call Squires Plumbing and our calls went unanswered.  At this point I realized Squires Plumbing were little more than charlatans telling the bank they completed all of the work they were hired to do, get paid for the whole job while not actually doing all the work and hope no one actually addresses the fact that work wasn't completed.  I had to call out an actual professional plumber from who pointed out no work at the washer box had been done.  My additional cost to fix the problem $314. To the next item that was not properly installed marked on the invoice as:Hall Bath:Washer kit for shower valve - replaced - My first conversation with Squires Plumbing addressed this issue as well which he responded "Sometimes the seal takes a couple weeks to set". I'm not a plumber but I would imagine this is not true. And I've had shower valves replaced in previous homes and they did in fact not leak when replaced. Squires Plumbing charge $108.80 [redacted]I apologize if this is not the correct avenue to file a complaint against this work performed. I will point out the issues in this message but if I need to file an additional complaint for this company I will do so. 2 x 10 deck ban replaced - This was actually done. I am quite shocked. Deck board lifting around tree in deck - fastened down. - This was also done. Sliding glass door handle and lock broken - replaced with new handle and lock kit - This was NOT completed. The door will not lock and the handle is the original handle that was on the door when we first saw the house. This is easily verifiable by the fact that it DOESN'T LOCK! Front door replaced due to damage - front door replaced with metal door, door jam replaced, new threshold installed, and molding replaced at hardwood floor. Front door painted to match existing doors. - The front door was replaced with a metal door. However, TWO holes were drilled into the door to attach the base of the handle and it needs to be replaced. The door jam was not replaced no new threshold was installed and the molding at the hardwood floor was not replaced. Cost $289They did paint the door however... in splotchy streaky patches. $50Total cost based on work that is poorly/not performed and additional cost to me for hiring actual professional plumber $761.80To address the issue of non-responsiveness on our part I would be more than willing to pull my cell phone records for both my cell phone and my wife's and point out the number of attempted calls to Squires Plumbing and reversely show the number of calls Squires Plumbing made to either of our cell phones. It shouldn't take long as Squires Plumbing NEVER CALLED! The shear nerve of this fly by night company to claim customer satisfaction as a top priority is a blatant fabrication of Squires Plumbing policy or an out right inability to understand what the term means.

Review: Squires plumbing was hired and paid to complete plumbing work prior to my family moving into the house. Once we moved in it was realized that Squires plumbing either didn't do part of the work or installed defunct replacement parts. I spoke with Squires plumbing multiple times about rectifying the issues and several times Squires Plumbing committed to returning to the house to fix the problems. They NEVER showed up or called and then refused to answer the phone and return messages. The nature of the issues required us to hire another company that would actually show up and do the work required to replace the parts Squires Plumbing had already been paid to do to the amount of $314. The unresponsiveness of this company, complete lack of interest in quality of work and untruthfulness in work that was PAID for have forced my hand in lodging this complaint.Desired Settlement: I would like Squires Plumbing to cover the cost we absorbed due to unwillingness to answer/return phone calls and honor work that had been PAID for.
