I had to take my van in for a diagnostic check, and my "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" was on. I wanted to know if they could tell me what was wrong. I specifically told them," I WANTED A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK ONLY". I wanted to wait for the van, The mechanic proceded to tell me that ",THAT AIENT GUNNA HAPPEN." So I proceeded to go home and wait for them to call when it was done. I sat all day on Monday waiting to hear from them, they never called, I called that day, the first call went unanswered, the secound call They said that" it needed a tune up". I thought that they would call me back to tell me to pick the van up before closing," They did not call". What I did not know is that they proceeded to take my engine apart,"WITHOUT MY PERMISSION"! And get ready to do the work,The next day. So my van sat their overnight, I never recieved a call until 10:30 am the next day telling me, why the light was on. I told whoever I talked to that I could not afford the repair at this time I only had enough to do the diagnostic. He got really upset with me and told me,"WE HAVE TO PUT IT BACK TOGETHER", I asked then," when can I pick it up"? he told me he would call me when it was done.This was tuesday morning, I waited all day again NO CALL! So I assumed that they would call when it was done. So by wednesday morning I was pretty upset, I called them and Mark the onwer told me that they ,another mechanic told me to pick it up in a half hour on tuesday, This conversation with me never took place, which I told him this. He was very sarcastic and said," your the one that did not want the work done". I went to pick it up and they blocked me in and had all these cars so close to me that I had a tough time getting out. I felt very discriminated against do to that I was a woman, and that I was poor. I live on a tight fixed income. He was very rude and I never knew who I was dealing with over the phone or at the garage they never gave their names. I only knew Mark because he signed my bill.
