Review: I had my 2001 Toyota Prius Hybrid towed to this garage on June *, 2014. I brought this car to him because there was a sign that read "We specialize in hybrid repairs." 2 days later, the mechanic stated that it was a faulty inverter (part that makes the car go from gas to electric) and that the part and labor would be $1800. So I gave the okay to fix it. Then a few days later, he called and said the car was fixed but had 2 lights on; a engine light and a hvac light (which is ac). He said the air condition needed to be repaired in order to cool the hybrid battery in order for the lights not to be on and the car to function correctly. So I told him to repair that also. Then he told me that he could not find the compressor for the ac by the dealer because it was a discontinued item. But he said he could get it in a junkyard. So I told him to do it. Then afterwords, he said he could not find the compressor in the junkyard. And that the warning lights would stay on if I did not repair the air conditioner. Then he told me he opened the oil pan from the transmission, when he was not authorized to do any repairs on the transmission. Allegedly he said that he found metal particles in the transmission. He said the car was repaired but that the 2 lights would remain on because of the ac not being repaired. I took the car on June [redacted], 12 days after I brought it in. The repairs were not done correctly. The car is not going from gas to electric and the transmission is slipping. I cannot drive the car over 30 mph. He was not very professional and I always had to call him to get updated on the car. The car was by his garage by July [redacted] to July [redacted]. I feel that I was robbed out of $1800 for a job not well done. And I would like to get reimbursed for my car because my car is not able to drive anymore. I am very frustrated and disappointed.Desired Settlement: Refund me the cost of repairs and car which is $2650 or repair it to the condition that it was running.

Response:
A 2001 Toyota prius hybrid was towed to my shop [redacted].It came in 07/*/ 2014.
as soon as I saw the car I told him.do you know what you have here.he look at me lost.
it's not a regular car.so I educated and gave him some edvice.that the parts are very expensive.
He told me he just purchase the car from a friend for 850.00.the car had around 155,000 miles.
At that time he told me to see what was wrong with it and do the diagnostics. He left the car
at this time.we finish the testing in a day, we found the ac/dc inverter was bad.I call him and told him
labor and prices,it was 1800.00 .he took 1 days to get back to me give or take.I all so told him at the time
it need maintenance. he ask me to look into it to see how much it was going to be.so I continued
I order the inverter and I told him it was going to take a week.we installed it. the car was working.
so since the car was towed in we never knew the condition of the car how it was running.so we got it running.
we found the tranfer case that holds the mg1 and mg2 was never maintanance this what it uses the keep the 158watts
battery charged.and we found the A/C compressor not working and the belt need to be change.that also cools the battery
he did tell me to change the compressor. I told him the gen 1 witch was made from 1999 to 2001 was not good car
it will keep giving him problms. and will cost him lots of money. so I refues to do the job and keep going
we dont give refunds back on labor and elc parts. we have it post up on the wall. shop warranty and
regalations. ps. he told me after he purchase the car a mouth later it die out. RULE OF PURCHES
DO NOT BUY SOMETHING IF YOU DONT NOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING INTO . and know what you are buying.
thank you

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
I had
the car towed in about 2pm. He told me he would not be able to check the car
that day because he was closing at 5pm and was not open Sunday. He got back to
me Monday afternoon and told me the problem with the car. And in regards to him
telling me "do you know what you have here" or educating me on the
car was untrue, also about him telling me that the parts were very expensive
and it was not worth further repairs was after the fact that he did the
supposed repair and charge me $1800
There
is no sign in the shop stating anything about refunds and if there is it is not
visible. I purchased the car in 4/**/14 and had it inspected in may, and it
passed. The car was running in perfect condition and there was not one light on
in the car. Now there a check engine light and triangular warning light are on
. The car was returned to me in very poor working order:
1
- doesn't go from gas to electric and vice versa.
2
- transmission is slipping doesn't drive over 30 MPH.
3
- light are on in car.
As
stated in my 1st complaint he stated the he open the transmission which was not
authorized by me to do. I'm looking to get a refund plus the purchase price of
the car because I think the car will never be repaired to the way it was. But
if he can I will stay with the car.
Also
he told me that he drove the car 1/2 hr. to make sure it was in good running
condition when on my receipt it states the car went in with 125,417 mi and came
out with the same mileage. VERY,VERY UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER.
Coincidentally
today I got a call someone named [redacted]. He told me that he got my # from g&a
and that he was looking to buy a hybrid battery or the whole car because he
buys and sells hybrids. Is that a coincidence? I have his tel# if necessary.
Sincerely,
Review: I brought my vehicle for yearly New York State Emissions inspection on September * 2015. It passed inspection which now expires September **, 2016. but the sticker I was given from inspection shop that proves I have a valid vehicle inspection expires August **, 2016 which is one month before the actual expiration that I paid for. I went back to get the right sticker that says my inspection expires Sept 2016 but I was told by the owner I need to pay another inspection fee for a new sticker. Its not my fault he made a mistake which affects me. Now I have to reinspect my vehicle is 11 months, not 12 as required by law.Because of this, If a traffic enforcement officer sees my vehicle between Sept [redacted] 2016, I can get a fine because my inspection sticker says it expires August 2016.Desired Settlement: Dealing with this business is really aggravating, I want a refund of what I paid for my inspection which is $37 mailed to me. I dont want to be contacted by this business as the owner is very rude and refused to acknowledge his error and fix it.I want my refund mailed to address below:( I dont want this person to have my personal address)[redacted]
