We paid $2000 for a leather "Smith Bros" chair. Also bought another fabric chair for $1800. They were delivered and they took our old chairs away. Three days later we discovered the leather chair had a torn bottom fabric under the chair. They came and picked up the chair. It took five days to get it back. After three months the finish started to come off of the leather. They came and picked it up and left us a temporary chair someone had used before that was a smoker. It smelled so bad we had to put it outside. They brought another chair and it was so dirty we told them to take it back and used a rocking chair we had. They returned the leather chair to "Smith Bros." and it took five weeks for us to get it back. After a few more months the leather started to do the same thing. After some research we found out that the leather was "spray dyed", or painted. Not like "high quality FLEXSTEEL" leather furniture we had purchased in the past which is "vat dyed" witch means the color goes through the leather, not just on the surface. We told them it was wearing and they said this is normal wear. We must sit in that chair a lot. ????? After two years the leather looks so bad we had to do something. We went to the store. We just wanted to find out our options. They said someone would contact us. Nobody from the store EVER contacted us. They had a leather repair company call us. The lady said they could re-dye the parts of the chair that were worn for $500 - $600. No guarantee. So we have donated the chair to Good Will and purchased a "quality" FLEXSTEEL chair.
