Review: I am writing to complain about the shady practices of Gabriel Tax & Accounting Services LLC of 1297 Park Avenue Bridgeport, CT 06604. In February 2013 my husband and I approached Ms. [redacted] J [redacted] of Gabriel Tax and Accounting Services to render us help in filing our business tax for [redacted], Inc. and both of our personal taxes. After a 30 minute consultation with Ms. [redacted] J [redacted] she assured us that the bill for filing our taxes will be $200 and it will be taken out directly from our taxes once filed and completed. She said we do not have to worry about payment until the taxes are filed and they will deduct their filing fees of $200 from our tax returns. We met with [redacted] again two weeks after that and submitted all of the documents that she requested to file our taxes for us, which was copies of our bank statements, legal company documents, utility bills, etc. On March 3, 2013 my husband and I came into their office, but [redacted] was not around, so the receptionist in the office gave us a letter to sign that we want them to file our tax for us and another letter stating that it will cost us $1500 to file our taxes, and that we will pay this up front before they file our taxes, otherwise they will cancel and not proceed. Secondly that we will pay extra $500 to IRS and another $50 to CT and NY state. We were surprised when we saw the outrageous bill and objected before the receptionist and told the receptionist that we were going to talk to [redacted] J [redacted] the CPA that was handling our taxes. We called [redacted] about the $1500 bill + the $500 IRS bill and $50 NY and CT state tax bill the receptionist showed us and that it is different from the amount she told us initially. So we told her that we do not have that amount of money and we do not want to continue with them in filing our taxes. She said no problem, that she will tell the office to cancel everything. After two months we received a mail from Gabriel Tax & Accounting stating that we owed them $1500 for their services. We went to their office in person to confront them about the false bill because they never filed our taxes for us. We called [redacted] again to ask what is going on and why they are bugging us. She said we should forget about the letter, that it was a mistake from the office. From then on we were constantly receiving bills saying that we need to pay them $1500 for their services. On August 12, 2013 we received a call from (XXX)XXX-XXXX who claimed to be a Lawyer stating that Gabriel Tax & Accounting Services, LLC is requesting that we pay them $1500 and if we want to settle amicably because they want him to take it to court. My husband explained everything to the man that called that we are not owing Gabriel Tax.My husband and I filed taxes ourselves through Turbo Tax and there is no reason why Gabriel Tax should be bugging us. On what grounds are we owing Gabriel Tax $1500 when they never filed our taxes for us and can't provide proofs of filing taxes for us. We would like for Gabriel Tax & Accounting Services, LLC to stop contacting and harassing us. We are willing to seek justice for the harrasment and frustration that they have caused us because of their thirsty quest for money in which they did not earn.
