Review: When I was up in NY at my home in [redacted] my 2004 F350 diesel pick-up with ONLY 62,000 miles on it started up and then conked out and would not start again. I had it towed over to Gabrielli's as I have done business with them many times before. They had my truck there for over two weeks, put different parts in for one thing, then another and another, none of which worked. They were never able to fix the problem, nor were they able to figure out what was exactly wrong. Needless to say, I was given a bill for $3,500.00, the truck wasn't fixed and I had to have it towed back out of there to my home in [redacted].Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the total amount that I paid for nothing getting repaired and for parts that were put in that did absolutely nothing to fix the problem.

Yes, the truck was towed to us for crank no start, so which means we had to invest time and material to get the truck running to perform diagnostics. Once we got it running we found the the front timing gear out of time, which at that piont we recommened to pull front engine apart and get into the reapir deeper. Which a quote was given to the customer on how much labor and parts were going to be involed, huge job! [redacted] called and refused to go further with the repair stating that the truck has less value then what the repair would have cost him. At this point the customer had the truck pulled out of my service bay and towed back to his home where he would perform the repair. Also please note that the bill was much higher and the S[redacted] applyed a Big Discount. Thank you for taking the time to read this reply.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here] First they said it needed a wire harness for over $2,000....that wasn't the problem. Then they said it needed a module for over $700.......again, not the problem. They put in a starter without asking me and then said the cam is out of time and that I needed a motor. They told me that it wouldn't pay to do a repair on the motor that is in the truck and that it would be $20,000 for a new motor. I have all these parts now that I didn't need because of misdiagnosing and now I need a new motor?? They claim they got the truck running but if that were true then WHY would I need a new motor??? They gave me $500 off the bill and the bill was still $3,500. I feel I should only have had to pay for the time spent on diagnosing but not for parts and labor that I didn't need.

I also have a complaint with Ford Motor Company. This truck only has 62,000 miles on it, all maintenance done at right intervals and I definitely shouldn't need a new motor yet. Thank You.

It needed the parts and the labor in order to perform diagnostics as I stated before truck came in NO CRANK NO START so in order to find the problem there certain steps that need to be followed. I honetly think his main complaint should be with FORD MOTOR COMPANY as [redacted] stated on his complaint. Also we did find the problem we told him that the engine timing was off, which we contacted FORD and sent FORD snap shots of the engine and ECU reading, the main decision was made by FORD HOT LINE.
