Not enough time
I recently took the curriculum and instructor portion of the test. 2hrs and 45 is NOT enough to answer 100 questions and 3 writing portions. Mite I add the study materials had absolutely nothing to do with the questions. They are so out dated and didn’t help at all. I studied my butt off! This exam cost 200 and in my opinion is geared towards the test takers. Failing!

Please see our customer response below:Dear [redacted]
ETS was notified by the Revdex.com (Revdex.com) that you submitted a complaint that you were not able to take the GACE Special Ed General Curriculum Combined Test I & II (581) test on February 20, 2018 due to invalid...

Identification (ID). According to the incident report that was sent from the test center administrator (TCA) you presented your employee ID card instead of a government issued ID such as a drivers licenses. To be admitted into the test center, you must have current and valid identification documents. The following government-issued ID documents are acceptable for admission to the test center within your country of citizenship: • Passport • Driver's license (including provisional driver’s license as outlined under "Driver’s License Renewals") • State or Province ID card (including those issued by motor vehicle agencies) • National ID card • Military ID card Identification requirements are clearly stated on your admission ticket and on the GACE website at [redacted]. The test center administrator (TCA) was following GACE program policy in not admitting you to the center. The TCA does not have to allow you to go home to get your ID documents. You are responsible for bringing valid and acceptable identification each time you report to a test center. Your test fees will not be refunded if you are not permitted to test or if your scores are withheld or canceled because of invalid or unacceptable ID. Test security is very important to the GACE program and to the institutions and agencies who receive the scores. For that reason, we have to strictly enforce the policies and procedures we have in place concerning the identification documents (ID) test takers bring to the test center. Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. Comments from test takers are always welcomed and are taken seriously in our effort to maintain the highest standards of quality for our tests and testing services. We wish you much success in your future academic endeavors. Sincerely, Educational Testing Service (ETS) Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators Program

I was scheduled to take the GACE Exam for writing but was unable to do so because my name was different from my ID.

I was told by the test administrator if I had my name corrected I would be allowed to reschedule to take my writing part of the exam. I was not.

I Was told the next day I was not allowed to take the exam because I forfeited my money because of the name difference on my ID. I am a single parent with a lack of funding. I think this test is a rip off to take people hard earned money.
you have to take this exam 3 or 4 times to pass it, which cost around $700.00. The test prep material does not prepare you for the exam. It's a rip-off.

Review: I was unable to test due to technical difficulties at the location... I took a day of work to attend.Desired Settlement: I desire to be rescheduled for the next testing that is available, at no cost and have my test fee refunded. I feel that this action would be fair considering that I lost a day of work(taken off to attend testing)and that do to no fault of my own, I was unable to test. This same organization refused to work with me in an earlier situation on testing, when I was present but could not provide a picture ID at the time because of my wallet being stolen. ETS refused a waiver for future testing

I will be as brief as possible trying to put all information in this inquiry. My daughter [redacted] whom might I add is visually impaired. She is an educator that have been taking G.A.C.E since 2011. She has since received her BA in Special Education and her Master's in Special Education. Last Year October she wanted to become highly qualified in her field and need to take more G.A.C.E Testing. She was told that G.A.C.E is under a new company and being reorganized and she would get an email once a date becomes available. (we have every email sent and responded) if needed. Between Oct and January 2014 she has been given one excuse after the other why the test is not available. January she received an email saying she needs a doctor to verify that she is in fact visually impaired when she had already taken two test and have her T4 certification from G.A.C.E After sending paperwork from the Doctor's office we were told they needed more the next week... we were finally able to get all the necessary documents the office required to get the computer Base test for her in March. We called back after not hearing from them on a test date and was told that they need to put in for this test. Mind you this is April and still no action has been taken. [redacted] called several times again to talk with a supervisor and was told she could not speak to one but she could tell the customer service rep because she would get the same answer the test has to be submitted for her. Now we are in May and was just told a supervisor will submit for the test needed. This is unacceptable and I believe that she is being discriminated against because of her impairment. I know that there is a disability act that prevent this type of action. It has cost her positions and not to get promotions because of their lack of timeliness.
