Dear Revdex.com: We are responding to the complaint made by our customer *** * *** We read the complaint, and we stand behind our no warranty agreement we have with the customerThis vehicle the customer purchased from us is a year old used Volkswagen Diesel with 85,milesThere was no factory remaining warranty on the vehicle, and we suggested to the customer that purchasing a service contract on the vehicle would be a great ideaThis customer declined this opportunity, and we documented this decision on one of our due bills, these customers also agreed in writing that they would be responsible financially for all repairsThis Vehicle Due Bill form signed by the customer reads as follows "No work promised or dueVehicle Sold As-IsCustomers declined service contract and understand that they are responsible for all and any future repairs No Exceptions !!!!!!" To complicate matters this customer did not choose to inform us of the trouble until after he repaired the car at his own expenseWe have no idea as to how this vehicle failed, even service contracts require an inspection and claims process, this customer has afforded Gage Auto Sales neitherHad this customer contacted us personally, perhaps we would choose to participate in the repairs to some extent as an act of good will, however the format of contact with the dealership was an unfavorable Facebook post that was overly aggressive and demanding, an attempt to intimidate us in to doing this customers biddingIn conclusion we wish the customer the best going forward, however we will not alter our end of the agreement as it applies to the no warranty aspect of our transactionSincerely *** *** General Sales Manager Gage Auto Sales, Inc

dealership.Let me open by stating that I'm sorry your visit ended up being a frustrating and unproductive experience In addition, I'm sorry our staff failed to clearly articulate the dealership's position with respect to the items raised in your letter.In reviewing this matter, it appears you ended up talking to several different staff members on at least two different days.As background, car dealers are obligated by federal law to make sure they don't enter into a transaction with an individual or entity on the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons list (known as the "SDN list") of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (known as OFAC).It's a common practice for car dealers to rely on the results of a credit report to determine whether the prospective new customer is on this SDN list By relying on the credit bureau, we are provided a comprehensive source for OFAC data from a source we trust It also allows us a method to document our compliance efforts and helps us do a competent job in an expedient manner.I recently had the opportunity to purchase a vehicle for my wife at a new car store in town Like you, I really didn't want to share my social security number My attempt to avoid the request was unsuccessful They as well, rely on the credit bureau as their sole means of establishing OFAC compliance It wasn't a negotiable point with them.While there may be other approaches for confirming whether a customer is on the SDN list, I believe reliance on the credit bureau is the most common method in the auto industry.In reviewing this matter, I did have a discussion with the individual who mentioned the IRS requiring the collection of your social security number He was working under the mistaken belief that you were proposing to pay cash for the vehicle, rather than securing your own financing or writing a check While the IRS requires we provide them with the taxpayer identification number for those paying cash or cash equivalents over $10,000, this was not your particular situation.With regard to the possibility that Gage Auto Sales receives a kickback from finance companies for collecting social security numbers and running credit checks, this is not the case Though it could be a practice that occurs, it's not one that's ever occurred here.With this response, I've included a brief article from the following government website:***The article mentions the connection between the credit bureau and the SDN list.Thank you for considering my position on this matter If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me I can most easily be reached at (503) 652-0006 or by email at [email protected] submitted,Don R***Business Manager

As we reached her on her way into work, he suggested she call back this evening after work.

Dear Revdex.com,
This letter is in regard to the complaint of Mr*** *** (Id number ***)
We received this complaint on Friday July 21, and followed up with Mr*** during the first part of the following week
We made an appointment
for Mr***’s car at a mechanic shop we frequent and a procedure was undertaken for the purpose of helping with his DEQ issue. The car was returned to Mr*** and he was instructed to drive it. By him driving it, we can assess whether the check engine light will return and will also help get the computer in the “ready” state for a DEQ test
We are committed to helping Mr*** get his vehicle through DEQ and should this initial repair not be sufficient to complete the task, we will happily make arrangements to have the mechanic’s shop assist us further
Mr*** was assisted this week by our employee, Jeremy *** D***. Though Jeremy is currently on vacation, he will return early next week. Upon his return, I will have him contact Mr*** and determine how the vehicle has performed since it was returned to him
Once the vehicle is through DEQ, we will follow up with the Revdex.com and confirm that the problem has been resolved
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We anticipate being able to conclude this matter in no more than days, but will keep you apprised of our progress

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:Hello my name is [redacted] complaint ID [redacted] with gage auto sales. They contacted me offering a "resolution" replacing my catalytic converter but honestly I don't think that's justice to my case. They repeatedly lied and they scammed me. What I'm requesting is to return the car and wipe out the loan and get my money back. The slate will be clean and they can do what they please with the car. I didn't reply to the Revdex.com email because I didn't see it in time and now it says it's "closed" but it isn't and they are getting away with ripping off someone like me and now they will do it again.
