Gaia Hotel and Spa, an Ascend Hotel Collection Member

Review: I received a call from [redacted] my credit card company informing me that fraud had occurred on my card at this hotel. I had booked through[redacted] Travel 2 night at $116.10 per night for a total with taxes of $255.42. When I checked out on Sunday July 6, 2014 at approximately 11:45 am, I confirmed with the front desk $255.42 to be billed to my credit card.[redacted]contacted me to say that they had added on an additional $100 to the card. Unauthorized charges. I am filing a dispute with [redacted] towards this hotel today as well as filing a fraud complaint with [redacted]. I wish to file a fraud complaint with the Revdex.com in Anderson, CA towards this establishment as well. I absolutely cannot understand why they would do this and I highly resent the fact that they would even have tried. Thank God [redacted] was on top of it and noticed it to be fraud. Please let me know what I need to do to further this complaint.Desired Settlement: I want the extra charges refunded and the whole stay greatly reduced or comp'ed (gifted) completely. FIntentional Fraud is UNACCEPTABLE. They have violated and betrayed my trust completely. I originally stayed there in March of 2010 and was so impressed. Now I am sickened. My traveling companion met the owner of the hotel in 2010 and this time he was told that a "[redacted]" had purchased the hotel. Russian frauds evidently. Totally Unacceptable!!

We would like to thank you for your resent patronage at our establishment. We have received your complaint from the Revdex.com about your card being authorized for an additional amount of $100.00. All guest cards upon check in will be authorized for room and tax and an additional $100.00 for any incidentals that may be incurred during ones stay. This is done because we do have an onsite restaurant and spa that guest will charge the bill to their room. The only amount that was charged to your card was $255.42. Since no incidentals were incurred during your stay the $100.00 will be credited back to your card. It is this hotels policy to authorize all guests’ cards in this manner. It is our goal to deliver exceptional services to our entire guest. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.
