In response to complaint:I was hired by Mr.V*** to install a 3/inch water line with waste valve inside house main feet out to main on sprinkler system with approved materials.MrV*** had an existing stop and waste that was removed by the city for an illegal connection to the water
meter.I installed piping as per city code.I was paid $for my services. He then called me saying I had a check valve in the piping that I installed decreasing the pressureI told him that there was no check valve but there was an existing pressure reducing valve above my tie in to service the homeHe then sent me a text stating that I had used the wrong size line of 1/inch to tie into his systemI sent him a text informing him that I had used a 3/inch line the same size as his main water line.I then started getting texts stating that I had done things wrong based on his conversations with sprinkling people.I sent him a text and told him I would come out the following Monday or Tuesday to address his issues at no cost to himHe sad the front was fine but the back was not working like it did last year. He did not make any response to my offer to come back, instead he sent me several texts complaining about the system.I noticed all his existing valves were leaking after I hooked up the system and he also made a comment about them leaking before I started.I did the job I was hired to do and stand by my work however as stated above I was not given the opportunity to meet and discuss his issues.I have been a licensed plumber for years and have an excellent reputation.I do have all the text messages between us. My time is very valuable to me so in order to solve this issue I have sent him a check for $on 6/30/a return for my servicesAs far as the money he spent on the rest of his system my professional opinion is that his system was originally installed using sub standard materials.Thank you,Gail L***

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:In response to Mr. L[redacted] response. As I stated in original letter I did not want to be rude or disrespectful, but it seems Mr. L[redacted] wants to go that route. Yes Mr. L[redacted] was hired by V[redacted] family to install a stop & waste for our sprinkler system.  Which he made up his own version of a stop&waste. There is a huge difference to what a stop&waste is for sprinkler systems to what he Micky Moused. We originally wanted it installed outside and Mr. L[redacted] the so called professional recommended installing a 3/4 inch water line with waste valve inside house main which is 10 feet away from where the main comes into the house but over 30 feet from where the main is outside. We wanted installed out closest to the main where the exisiting 1 inch line is at so we did not loose any flow, volume or pressure, but he the expert recommended installing it inside. V[redacted] Family did have an existing stop and waste that was removed by the city for an illegal connection to the water meter, which is how we bought the house and were not aware it was illegal where the location was at.He was paid $750.00 for his services. He is correct that I called saying he had a check valve in the piping that he installed decreasing the pressure. He arrogantly told me that there was no check valve but there was an existing pressure reducing valve above my tie in to service the home. I then sent him a text stating that he had used the wrong size line of 1/2 inch to tie into my system. He sent a text arrogantly informing me that he had used a 3/4 inch line the same size as his main water line. Here is where the problem lies, and his 34 years of experience and creditibility goes down the drain very quickly. He installed pex piping! According to sprinkler contractors that know of sprinkler systems, sprinkler contractors DO NOT USE PEX PIPING BECAUSE THE INSIDE DIAMETER OF PEX PIPING IS SMALLER THAN PLAIN OLD PVC PIPING!!! There for with pex piping you loose water volume, flow and pressure!!! But you figure the expert with over 30 years of experience would know that right?? Like I stated originally I was trying to be respectful and fair, but he wants to be disrectful.I did send texts stating that he had done things wrong based on my conversations with sprinkler contractor professionals not sprinkling people as he stated. He did send me a text arrogantly telling me he would come out on a Monday or Tuesday to address my issues at no cost to us. I did not state that the front was fine, but the back was not working like it did this year, not last year. In the conversations I had with Mr. L[redacted], I explained we had ran our sprinklers earlier this year, because of the warm and dry winter we had this year 2015, and that is when we noticed a leak at the main and contacted the City of West Jordan, and that is when the original stop & waste was removed. So this year, 2015 when we ran our sprinklers they all were running just fine. It is until he installed the system he highly recommended that we began to have no water volume, flow and pressure in the front and back.  I did respond to his offer to come back, by explaining in several texts all the trouble shooting I had done per the advice of the sprinkler contractors that offered their advice for free once they saw the services Mr. L[redacted] had performed and saw the outrageous price he charged.I explained to Mr. L[redacted] all the troubleshooting, I had done so to make him aware of it to see if he had any professional ideas and than he did not respond. I too have all the messages to prove him wrong! We were very fortunate to have found sprinkler contractors that were very honest and did not charge outrageous prices like Mr..L[redacted].He was given the opportunity to meet and discuss the issues on several occasions and he never responded to our texts and voicemails which both my wife and I left.He is a licensed plumber, but not a sprinkler contarctor and we quickly found that out once he used pex piping and as also explained by the sprinkler contractors and the City of West Jordan that only new housing is installing their stop&waste inside homes because of newer construction piping instead of old galvanized piping which over time builds up and than the water volume, flow and pressure is lost. That is why they strongly recommend installing a ONE inch pipe as close to the main as possible in order not to loose any water flow, volume and pressure. It didnt take me 34 years to gain this knowledge.I do have all the text messages between us. As far as the money we spent on the rest of our system his professional opinion that our system originally installed is sub standard is wrong, because as sprinkler contractors and the City of West Jordan explained we have an amazing yard, both front and back that weve had due to our great sprinkler system that waters it. Plus I was not aware the Manufacturer, Rainbird is substandard! I mean for the City to come out to our home and give their professional opinion is pretty high up there!Thank you,
Sincerely,
Valarie & Pavel V[redacted]
