Review: On 01/21/2013, I telephonically contacted the company regarding fixing a non-operating ceiling fan in my home. They were available to come that afternoon and stated that it would cost approximately $29.00 to diagnose the problem with the fan and then the on-site electrician would provide me an estimate for the cost of repairing the problem. I agreed and scheduled the electrician to come to my home that afternoon. Upon arrival, I showed the electrician the broken ceiling fan and he told me it would cost $242.00 to simply diagnose the problem. This amount also did not include any repairs that needed to be made after the problem was diagnosed. I explained to the electrician that was not the quoted price I was given over the phone when I made the appointment and I was not going to pay $242.00 to simply diagnose the problem for a broken fan. Even though the electrician did no work and was at my home for only a few minutes, he then charged me a $29.00 service fee.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the "service fee" and would like the company to be more honest with their customers when providing their service. I was told the electrician would diagnose the problem for $29.00 and was never told that it would cost anything additional to tell me what was wrong with the fan. I would not have scheduled service with this company if it was going to cost $242.00 to simply diagnose a broken fan. It is unfair and dishonest for them to quote me one price over the phone and then try to charge me almost ten times that amount when the electrician arrives. Even worse, I had to pay the company $29.00 for doing nothing.
