As noted on attachments, the job was completed and acknowledged as meeting specifications and customer expectations. The issue noted on the complaint was due to customer removing pieces from the original installation after completion and sign-off
To Whom It May Concern:
This is to
provide an explanation of the finished project at the home *** and *** ***. An order for countertops was placed on 3/23/by *** *** *** (kitchen and bath dealer for Galaxy Stone Works). On 3/24/15, a template date was set for 3/31/and confirmed with *** *** ***
On 3/31/15, a template of the project was performed by a Galaxy Stone Works template. At which time, the template information was reviewed with, and signed off by the homeowner (Template Checklist attached). The details regarding the desk piece and the backsplash ordered are contained in this document.
In the case where backsplash is being installed, the countertop is not scribed to the wall and a gap is left, as the backsplash will cover and hide said gaps. An additional purpose for these gaps is to allow for expansion and contraction per the manufacturers recommendations. In this particular case, backsplash was ordered and therefore spacing was allowed for ease of installation and to prevent possible damage to the walls due to a tight fit. Had the homeowner not ordered backsplash to be installed the gapping would have been kept to the minimum requirement s provided by the manufacturer.
The homeowner was satisfied with the installation (4/10/- Customer Installation Checklist attached) then changed their mind regarding the backsplash following final installation, removed the backsplash (4/10/15) and is unhappy with the gapping between the countertop and the wall (see installation photo below following installation). Galaxy has provided a service call quote to the homeowner as Option 1. This would entail using a color match epoxy to fill in the gap. This would then be finished with a color-match caulk. Galaxy also provided the homeowner with a quote to have the piece remade. This was Option 2.
Galaxy Stone works provided the exact product to the exact specifications reviewed by the homeowner prior to building any countertops. The homeowner not only reviewed these details, but also signed off on these details. Galaxy has provided two solutions to the homeowner and would very much like to remedy this problem

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: We maintain that we paid for a piece of quartz that should correctly fit our storage area whether we kept the backsplash on or not.  If we had not had the backsplash they would have cut the quartz evenly and correctly. Just because we decided not to use the backsplash doesn't mean they can give us an improperly cut piece of stone. Sincerely,[redacted]
