Galaxy Legends Reviews (3)

I pre-ordered online tickets to Star Wars on 10/22/2015 for the December 26, 2015 showing at 12:00pm. Galaxy Theaters charged my [redacted] card twice.I have tried to resolve this issue both in person and over the phone. I have provided proof (my card statement) as well. I was treated horribly over the phone and then I went down to theater, [redacted], their "manager" was not helpful at all and very unprofessional. I have had to file a dispute with my Card Services Dispute Department and the Nevada Attorney General's Office due to their unwillingness to resolve this situation. Desired SettlementI have proof that they charged my [redacted] card twice, I would like them to refund my $53.25 immediately. I have now 3-4 spent hours dealing with this. Business Response The refund she had requested has been processed for $53.25 on December 24th, 2015. If the guest has any further questions she is free to contact us at our theatre location.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)I do appreciate that Galaxy Theater refunded my money and corrected their mistake, however I definitely think that their staff needs better training on how to deal with situations like this. The level of unprofessionalism I experienced is not acceptable at anytime.

On Saturday, March 19, 2016 at approximately 4:30 PM I was at the Galaxy Luxury IMAX Theater at Legends in Sparks, NV. My wife had purchased he tickets on line and went to the kiosk to print out the tickets while I went to the snack bar with my kids. My wife is disabled and has to use a cane to walk, as she approached a 6 year old ran under the ropes in front of her and cut her off. My wife was trying to get to me at the counter, so she moved the ropes to walk through to get to me. The 6 year old's 15 year old sister then began to get mouthy and disrespectful to my wife, so my wife told her to knock it off. These disrespectful kids mother comes out of no where and get in my wife's face and began screaming and making threats, while her teen daughter egged her on and taunted us. I was left alone to deal with this out of control person... all of the staff, including the manager on duty who showed up long after this was escalating stood by and did absolutely nothing while a disabled person was being harassed and threatened. After speaking with the manager there a week later when he finally called I was told that it is their policy not to get involved in diffusing even verbal altercations, which only allows them to escalate. They stand and watch and it is the manager's discretion to call for security or police and neither was done. I was offered nothing but a lip service apology. This ruined my wife's, birthday and both my kids were terrorized, including our autistic son. Our experience there was completely ruined and I believe that due to their policies people are left on their own to diffuse situations that should be addressed by management which only allows it to escalate... this does not make for a safe environment. I will never return there and will make sure that everyone I know is aware as well as all of social media.Desired SettlementSince I was offered absolutely nothing but a lip service apology by management, I am requesting a refund in full ($44.90) for two children and two adults for the 4:30 PM showing of Dead Pool in DFX since we were not able to enjoy the movie due to this incident.March 21,2016GALAXY LEGENDS-[redacted]Payment - [redacted] Debit Card $44.90Business Response Management had a 45 minute phone conversation with [redacted] in regards to this matter. There was no mention of refund or any other type of compensation from [redacted] during the conversation. In addition, [redacted] did not notify any management the day of the alleged incident. I can assure you that if [redacted] notified management that the issues would have been dealt with accordingly. Although services were rendered, ([redacted] and party stayed to watch the movie) as a gesture of good faith we will refund [redacted]'s transaction. Please have [redacted] contact the Theatre as his earliest convenience so that we can issue the refund. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)Today I was advised by the on duty supervisor that my refund request for the full amount was being sent to corporate for approval and will take 3-5 business days to be processed. This was never about the money, this is about a lack of integrity and responsibility that Galaxy Theaters in Sparks, NV has failed to display in regards to the safety of their patrons... Something that I take very seriously as part of my work in risk management and security. It is my professional opinion that their noninterference policy that does not even allow management to attempt to diffuse situations before they spin out of control, combined with a lack of immediate security presence places their patrons in a reactive rather than proactive state of response to their safety. This combined with the on duty manager/supervisor having sole discretion in calling mall security or the police results in an unpredictable and unacceptable response time adding to the probability of more severer risk. The bottom line is to ask yourself this question and be honest: What would you do/hope/expect to happen if this was your disabled mother, grandmother, aunt, friend... no one did anything when my disabled wife was being threatened while my kids watched in terror. We all know what the right thing is here, and that didn't happen. I wanted this lack of integrity on the part of Galaxy to be public record since there will obviously be no other recourse. I accept the refund in full becasue I know that's all I will get. I do not however accept this in any way shape or form what Galaxy is deserved for what was allowed to occur due to willing inaction on their part and as long as their policies remain the same they will continue to roll the dice with the lives of their patrons to maximize profit. Your patrons have the right to expect and entrust you with their welfare and safety while within your venue. Galaxy does not even anywhere near in meeting that expectation.

Purchased tickets for a movie that was not able to watch because of unclear advertising. On 20 Dec 2015 at 1509 I purchased two (2) tickets totaling $16.50 for what I thought was the 21 Dec 2015 1200 noon showing of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. When I arrived at the theater at 1130 on 21 Dec I spent $27 at the concession stand before proceeding through the ticket collection point. The attendant looked at both tickets verified out loud that the 1200 showing was in theater 6 and passed my son and I through. When I arrived at theater 6 the sign next to the door stated the next showing was at 1:30 as I was discussing the discrepancy with my son 3 other patrons arrived. They were also confused by the discrepancy and thought that there was a misprint on their tickets and proceeded into the 1215 showing in theater 5. Knowing that something was not right I spoke with 3 different employees who all though it was a 1200 noon showing before I spoke with an employee behind the ticket counter that stated it was for the midnight showing not the noon showing. When I asked if I could change the tickets to a different time or get reimbursed for the tickets I was told that "there is nothing he could do" and was promptly dismissed as he called for the next person in line. After leaving the theater I called and spoke with a member of the management team who stated that "he knows that the web site and kiosk machines are not very clear but there is nothing they would do". I paid for a service (watching a movie) that my son and I were denied. As I was pulling out of the parking lot I saw the 3 patrons that though there was a misprint on their tickets. I spoke with them briefly and they stated that they were told the same thing that I was told and were asked to leave the theater.Admission tickets were $8.25 each I know of at least 5 people ($41.25 total) that paid that price and were told that there is nothing the theater would do to make things right knowing that there is a problem with the way their ticket sales sites and kiosk machines advertise ticket times. It is obvious to me that the company gets to collect an untold amount of money for services not rendered because of the poor quality of their advertising and sales sights. The company also gets to collect on the concession stand sales for the products that were to be consumed while watching the movie.Desired SettlementI would like the cost of my tickets $16.50 refunded as there is a clear problem with the way the company advertises the times on their ticket sales web sites and kiosk machines.Even though it was meant to be consumed while watching the movie I am not asking for reimbursement of the over priced soda and popcorn as my son and were still able to enjoy it even if it was at home watching reruns of the original star wars.Business Response We have contacted this guest directly concerning this incident and have come to terms resolving the issue. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
