I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***,and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, detailsof the offer I reviewed appear below.I am unsatisfied with the response because Shanks towing did not even acknowledge my problem, or attempt tocome up with a resolution.Shanks Towing simply stated that the car was sold "as is." I was already aware of this policy, and was not disputingitHowever, the car I purchased wasn't even drivable for (One) hour! Which was the time it took me to get insurance,and license plates.Their statement to let the public know that "If they are aware of any problems, the auctioneer will announce it duringthe auction" flies in the face of factThis car had been wrecked, had a cracked radiator and never made it homedue to MAJOR mechanical issues.The vehicles acquired by Shanks Towing are mostly through repossession, or are unclaimed towsFor them toto offer taking the vehicle back and replacing it with a vehicle of the same value should be a no-brainer.Instead, they would rather guarantee the loss of a returning customer, and any future referrals by delivering athoroughly negative experienceIf they have one, I will be contacting the corporate office as well

I am enclosing the bill of salethat Ms. [redacted] signed stating all vehicles are sold "AS-IS WHERE IS". I have also included the auctionterms & conditions that was also signed by Ms. [redacted]. It is unfortunate that Ms. [redacted] had mechanicalissues with this vehicle as she was aware of the rules and regulations upon purchasing it.
To Whom It May Concern,In responce to case number [redacted].On September 25, 2015 a warning sticker was place on a [redacted] Town Car on the property of [redacted]. The warning stciker was written for having expired license plate, The sticker notified the owner of the vehicle he had until...
September 27, 2015 to renew his plates or the vehicle would be towed from the property. Shanks Towing has a contract with [redacted] and in the contract they want all vehicles with expired plates to be stickered for 48 hours and if the tags are not renewed the vehicle will be towed. [redacted] received a copy of the sticker that was placed on the vehicle along with pictures.Mr [redacted] called on October 2, 2015 he was advised of the charges for the vehicle. It had been in our possession for 5 days. The impound fee for the vehicle was $185.00, storage for 5 days was $250.00 ($50 a day) and a $250.00 processing fee. Our fees are regulated and a vehicle must be processed through the Department of Motor Vehicle after 72 hours. All fees were explained to Mr [redacted] along with the reason for the processing fee. He was advised all fees must be paid in order to pick up his vehicle. At 4:57pm a lady called requiring about the charges also. A release was then set up for 6pm. All fees were paid and the vehicle was then released to Mr [redacted].This was a lawful tow and all charges are in accordinace with state and county laws.If you have any questions you can contact us Monday - Friday from 8am to 5pmThank you, [redacted]
