Review: I had water damage while away from my home during the winter months of February 2014.threw March. From my bath room when arriving back home from the up stairs bath room down, to my kitchen floor sink stove kitchen walls tile ceiling. Which was all damaged even under my kitchen sink. I was told" they would do not just remediation to dry the up stair bathroom but also take care of all the remodeling after." They backed out of any further work and just requested I pay them over $2300.00. for remediation to one room the bathroom floor. never drying the down stairs kitchen floor with lanolium over wood and under my kitchen sink that had mold and mildewed with odor due to there not completing the job currently.. Now I have to pay and find some one else to fix the holes they ripped into my kitchen walls (drywall) and pay someone to do my kitchen floor .They also left all of my wood cabinets piled as of right now in my kitchen all 5 wood cabinets with plastic over them.for me to get someone which I will have to pay to remove /labor and gas.they told me if I did not pay them the $2K plus which my insurance sent me to use as I wish in paying some one to do the work.... Gale Force cleaning and restoration told me...they will take me to court. I have deducted from there charge ...for items destroyed and I also have pictures...In my opinion they were never going to do the work which just totaled as they wrote $6517.35.....I had to go on line to [redacted] and try to find someone to help remodel the damage they did, and will not repair it as they promised.nor clean up the mess they left ... backing out of the work agreed upon they would do. thank fully I never signed ANYTHING............Desired Settlement: I would like to know how much other companies charge for remediation of one room. . and then apply my deductions ....and pay for the time spent on that one bath room .and then I will pay a fair price minus what they owe me...for damages....which now I have to pay someone else to fix.

Water restoration projects are broken down into 2 phases - emergency services (AKA Mitigation) and repairs (AKA remodeling). We contracted with the customer to perform the water mitigation / emergency services at her home. We successfully completed the water mitigation by drying the structure and removing materials damaged beyond repair. As a nationally certified water restoration firm we have complete pictures, moisture readings and notes showing the damage was mitigated properly. This information was provided to the customer via a report and can also be provided to the Revdex.com. The water mitigation was completed in strict accordance with the IICRC Standard for Water Damage Mitigation S-500 Rev. 3. The amount due for the water mitigation project is roughly $2600 and the customer signed a contract for said work. We don't set any of our prices for mitigation or repair work. We utilize an insurance company price list that is used by a vast majority of insurance companies. The prices are standard insurance industry prices. We prepared an estimate for the the repair/remodeling work but decided not to move forward with the customer after she found our pricing (insurance company pricing) to be unacceptable. As the customer clearly states in her complaint, "I never signed anything" with regards to the repair/remodeling work. The amount we charged for the water mitigation project was acceptable to the insurance company and was paid to the customer. She simply will not turn the money over to our company.

Review: I hired Gale Force Cleaning and Restoration to restore my damaged home. They performed the demolition of the inside of the home to remove water damage and was paid $68, 271.11 for the work. Now the restoration phase was to occur and on May 15, 2015 a contract for this was signed. Gale Force received a check for $52,151.48 for the first installment in a series of 3 for construction to begin. As of today, no work has been performed and no materials have been purchased. I have been informed last week that the construction phase of the business is disintegrating and I have not received my money back. Gale Force has been holding this money since May, 2015 and possibly knew that they would not perform any service that I hired them to do, but continued to hold the funds. I have requested full payment returned to me and have not received $52,151.48 from them. I am unable to initiate payment to another contractor to start work on my home until I receive the draw amount from Gale Force.Desired Settlement: I am requesting Gale Force return the money in full and promptly.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: We had a house fire in August of 2014. We hired Gale Force to do the cleaning and restoration of our house because they were referred by a family friend that worked for them. The fire did a lot of damage. The house needed to be completely gutted and the inside rebuilt. Gale Force gutted the house right away and wrote an approved estimate from the insurance company, but stopped working. In December 2014 a new project manager took over ([redacted]). He realized that the initial bids were written wrong and he wrote a supplemental bid ($15,510.22) for the property. Altogether the bid was for $86,255.92. On December 31, 2014, all work stopped because Gale Force did not have permits to do work in New Castle County. They did not have proper permits again until May, 2015. During this time I kept asking why work had stopped and they would make excused. Gale Force has received two checks from the mortgage company (the insurance company gives them the money first): the first one for $24,489.78 and the second one for $15,510.22. I was able to stop payment on the second check on August 2, 2015. On July 31, 2015, [redacted] informed me that Gale Force would no longer complete the project. They were closing their New Castle County offices. I have tried to hire other contractors, but the work that Gale Force completed needs to be redone and we do not have the money to get our home fixed. The floor joyces that were supposed to be replaced still have fire damage and are bowed from the heat. Behind the dry that was not pulled out is a layer of soot. It all needs to be pulled out and replaced. All of the contractors that have looked at the house have refused to help us because the bids were written incorrectly and the work would need to be redone. We are on the verge of losing our house and do not know where to find help. [redacted] and [redacted] (he also worked for the company and is a family friend that recommended the company to us) are trying to help us find someone to help, but there is just not enough money. I have tried to contact Gale Force to get back some of the money that was given to them, but they do not return emails or phone calls. I am attaching many files to the email and will be sending the original bid, supplemental bids, contracts, and other things to support what I have said. They have broken their contract by not completing the work.Desired Settlement: We would like the whole $24,489.78 back to help us complete our home and $14,760.00 to cover our payments for the past year that we have had to pay rent and the mortgage while we thought our home was being fixed because it was uninhabitable.
