I had hired someone through the HRAP program to renovate my house, and had alot of issues with them not keeping in touch with me,or answering any of my questionsSometimes they would read my message and just ignore itThey hardly ever showed up, and when they did it would be from 1-pmthey would come and go without informing me, which it states clearly on the bid form for the program that they are not allowed to doThey left for a month, and kept changing the dates that they would be back, eventually saying that they cannot work in the winter when their business page shows pictures of them working in the winter and the deadline for my work was march 1st.I asked multiple times for a contract to be done, and for them to give me copies of receipts from them, or invoices, which the program requiresI told them not to come back and they told me I had no say in it and they were coming anyway, they also built the roof around my cat, while fixing it and said they would come in the morni
Forward Construction provided us a quote for work on our kitchen updatingWe were told that they had a journey-main carpenter and a journeyman plumber on staffWhen the work began there was a conversation that shed light the fact that there was not a journeyman plumber when the owner of Forward Construction said to one of our board members that "you don't need papers to be a plumber"We then had a hire plumber to do more of the work that anticipatedThey argued with our plumber about specifications and building codesAt the request of Forward Construction there was a meeting scheduled with our plumber to discuss their concerns and to explain there was no breach of building codesForward Construction was not satisfied with the information they were given and proceeded to contact the provincial fire commissionerThe City of Dauphin engineering department and the local fire chief, with misinformation about the work being doneThis resulted in a halt to the work, additional fees, as well as a building inspection by an engineerThe engineer confirmed that the work done by the plumber was indeed to codeAt this point we asked for a bill to date and terminated any further workWe did not receive a bill from Forward Construction for several monthsWhen we were finally invoiced it was not for the quoted amount and included charges for work they refused to doIt took three or four calls to get a corrected bill, which we paid
Forward Construction interpreted the building codes to suit themselvesIn their *** they overstepped the job they were hired to do, caused unnecessary delays and costs to a straight forward job
We will never recommend them for any work
