Great service at a fair price.
The price was competitive. They installed my unit in 8 hours and did some electrical work outside the install agreement for free. Thank you Galway Co-op!

Great service, fair prices.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
My response to Galway is as followsFollow up to complaint ID *** As Galway says my kw Generac Backup Generator arrived with a manufacturer's defectMany parts needed to be replacedAlthough I sought a replacement for the unit, after several months I agreed to have a Generac Certified Service (Lou's Electric of Amsterdam, NY) repair the unit as per their warrantyThe unit did not work the entire time it was in my possessionFinally on October 20, the Generac Service Rep replaced all the damaged partsHe then tested the unit and it failed to runUpon further investigation he determined the unit was running properly, however the kw generator was not creating enough power to run the designated areas in my homeI immediately called Mr Michael C*** of Galway and he said he would try to helpI have not heard from him sinceOriginally when shopping for a backup generator I called several vendors to assess my needsOne of the vendors was Galway Co-op, of Galway, New YorkAs a result of my inquiries Galway sent a sales rep named Steve to my home on or about the first week of May, We spent about hours discussing the pertinent points of installing a new backup generator (location of equipment, meeting electrical codes, clearances of a flammable propane tank and especially which generator size would be the proper fit for my needsSteve inspected my breaker box, areas around my house for suitability, which areas in my home would be covered by the new generator and especially the ability to power my Geothermal Heating SystemI expressed the importance of a proper sized unit due to the fact that we will be traveling for several months this coming winterI told Steve of my concerns regarding possible freezing pipes and water damage if there was a power failure without having proper backupSteve took many notes and told me he would forward a proposal shortlyOn 5/20/I received Steve's first proposalIt called for an "11kw whole house gas powered generator". In the proposal there was the quote "According to the manufacturer the kw would be sufficient for your house"The quote also called for an option to install a new 16kw Generac Generator for an additional $This quote included accessories needed for the installation and payment termsI called Steve and told him we have decided to purchase the kw unit and asked him to send an updated proposal that we received on 5/26/On that day we mailed the signed proposal along with out check for $4,Installation started on or about 6/19/We mailed the second payment of $2,the same dayDue to delays in receiving the generator from Generac the job wasn't completed until 8/13/As stated before the unit failedI have since asked Suburban Service Group to come and do an assessment of the situation as it stands nowSuburban is also a Certified Generac Sales and Service providerOn 10/29/a Suburban assessor came to my home and arrived at the following conclusion: "Even a 22kw will not suffice for your homeThe amount of pull your electric heat system and heat pump have, it would bog down the kw even with nothing else on"It is my contention the Galway representative had no knowledge of the product he was promotingI am now left having paid over $6,000.oo and having a pile of metal in my yard that has never worked properlyTo add insult to injury MrMichael C*** has not returned my call to dateAfter this experience, I feel anyone doing business with this company should have second thoughtsThank You, *** ***

[redacted] entered into a contract with the Galway Co-op HVAC, Inc. ("Galway Co-op") for the purchase and installation of a Generac Generator on or about June 11, 2015. The contract price was $8,355, with 50% due upon signing 25% due upon the start of work and the balance due at completion. Mr....

[redacted] made the first two payments totaling $6,266.25. The installation was completed on August 13, 2015. soon thereafter on or about August 17, 2015, Mr. [redacted] contacted the Galway Co-op ad advised that he had experienced a power failure, and that the generator had come on, but within 10 minutes had stopped running.  On or about August 19, 2015 a service technician was dispatched to Mr. [redacted]'s residence to inspect the generator. Upon inspection, the technician found that the equipment was non-operational, and advised Mr. [redacted] that pursuant to Generac's policy a Generac certified warranty technician would need to service the generator. Generac was immediately contacted by the Galway Co-op and advised of the problem with the generator. Generac advised that [redacted] of Amsterdam, had a warranty service technician, and that Generac would authorize a service call for the generator.  On or about September 1, 2015, a Generac warranty service technician from [redacted] of Amsterdam inspected the unit, and advised that he was unable to repair the unit and that he would need to perform a troubleshooting inspection with a Generac technician on the phone, this second inspection took place on September 10, 2015. As a result of the inspection it was discovered that a part within the unit had broken, thereby causing damage to several other parts, which would all need to be replaced. It was determined that this problem was caused by a manufacturers defect which was covered under the Generac warranty.  The parts needed to repair the unit were  ordered by [redacted] of Amsterdam and the generator has been completely repaired and is now fully operational.  The Galway Co-op has communicated with Generac regarding this unit on Mr. [redacted]'s behalf and has, (despite knowledge of Generac's policy of repairing rather than replacing defective units) requested that a replacement unit be provided, in order to accommodate Mr. [redacted]'s request. However, Generac has refused to comply with this request and has instead advised that their warranty policy is strictly one which covers repairs to the unit and not replacement.  Although Mr. [redacted] is dissatisfied with this policy, the Galway Co-op does advertise on its website that any equipment purchased through the Co-op carries with it only the manufacturer's warranty and nothing more. (please see the attached webpage printout) As such Mr. [redacted] knew or should have known of this policy at the time of his purchase of the unit. The Galway Co-op has performed all terms of its contract with Mr. [redacted], specifically, it provided and installed a new Generac Generator, and when the unit was deemed to suffer from a manufacturer's defect it followed the manufacturer's procedures with regard to warranty service.  Although it is unfortunate that the unit failed and that Mr. [redacted] was delayed in his ability to use the unit, this is not a contract where time was of the essence, and as such, a delay in performance does not constitute a breach thereof. Had Mr. [redacted] purchased the generator directly from Generac he would not have received anything in addition to the service he has received from the Galway Co-op. It is submitted that the Galway Co-op acted according to the terms of its contract, and in a professional and courteous manner in all respects.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for any further information. Very truly yours, Michael C[redacted] Galway Co-op HVAC
