Gambino Electric, Incorporated Reviews (1)

Review: On Oct7, they came to check why the lights on my third floor went out. He went into the attic and in 2 minutes something he did turned the lights back on. He told me the wires must be burned and fusing. He examined the third floor bedroom and bath rooms and was very dramatic when telling me there was a fire danger and EVERY outlet, about a dozen, had to be rewired from the circuit breaker on the first floor. Without another word, he immediately told me that it would cost $2200.00. I asked him to just leave the fix he had done in the attic but he refused and said if I didn't give him a check for half of the $2200.00 cost he would go back into the attic and turn the lights off. So needing lights on the third floor asap, I reluctantly agreed. It was simple blackmail to get the job. He said he could do the work on Oct 14 and it was such a big job, there would be two men working on it. When he did the work all he did was run one wire from the circuit box on the first floor to ONE outlet on the third floor. I asked and suddenly none of the other 10 outlets needing to be rewired. As far as it being a big job that required two men, the second man sat outside in the truck so they didn't have to pay a garage for parking. The original man wired one outlet and was done at 2pm. I repeatedly asked about the rewiring for the other outlets He would say if you want me to I will but none of them need it. The exact opposite of what he told me the day he first visited. Obviously telling me that all the outlets were a danger was a big lie to coerce me into paying him 2000.00.Desired Settlement: I have no way of knowing whether their was even a problem with the one outlet. So I am willing to settle for him keeping the 50% of the cost and I want a refund for the other 50%. I should probably want more than that back but I don't know what rewiring one outlet should cost. It should not be $2000.00 plus several hundred dollars for the initial visit. I feel I was blackmailed into this contract and the outlets needing replacement were one, not the dozen he promised to replace "because they were dangerous."

I don't know if you'll find them at the location listed here on line. All their cards. invoices and telephone book have different telephone numbers and suburbs listed. I know he said they were based in [redacted] and that's where he said he was coming from. The papers I have in front of me list [redacted] and [redacted] as addresses.
