Review: On 10/1/13 I went to Game Day and told the saleslady ([redacted]) that I was looking for an unrestricted flight bat. She told me that the bat she sold me was unrestricted and illegal at the small field [redacted] Plex. That night at the [redacted] Plex I found out that the ASA Standard on the bat was restricted flight and the recommended bat for the [redacted] Plex.On 10/2/13 I went back to return the bat (never swinging the bat at a ball and still in the wrapper). The manager told me that all bat sales are final and clearly states it on the receipt, of course you need glasses to read the small print. I asked to see a sing in the store that states that- there were none. I was not told by [redacted] of no returns. After much discussion and many no ways the manager offered a store credit, but I am 68 years old looking for what probably is my last bat I will ever buy, I refused mainly because of the absurdity of not taking the bat back. Especially after getting the wrong info in the bat. I would have done this sooner but I was in Europe for the last couple of weeks.Thank You,[redacted]Desired Settlement: Easy. Give me my money back. Bat is still in wrapper.

In response to the customers comments. They of course are incorrect and incomplete. Here is our side of the facts. The customer bought a clearance bat for starters. In the store and on every receipt it clearly says all sales are final on bats, clearance items, etc. Each and every customer is told about our bat policy at the time of check out when we get their information for the warranty of the bat. Any defective bat must be returned to the manufacturer. This has been our store policy for over 8 years and is industry standard on defective bats. The fact that our customers cannot read a receipt is not our responsibility. The next day the customer came into the store cursing at me and our employee and acting like a little child causing a commotion in our store. This was just another opportunity for the customer to go away.Our bat policy stands. Just because a customer wants to yell louder and write incorrect stuff and bad mouth our company, I cannot control this. I can only control our integrity as a store with our thousands of current and loyal customers.There will be no refund or exchange because of our store policy and the customers outrageous behavior in our store. If the customer had a conscience they should be ashamed for acting like they did.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

There is no problem or defect with the bat, it just wasn't what I asked for. And it's still in the wrapper.

I went into the store thinking that I would have no problem retuning the bat. There is no "clearance" sign posted or shown to me that I saw either day I was there. And there was no signs that said no returns of bats posted near the bats that I saw or was shown to me on either day. He said I couldn't return it, store rules. I told him that I was told by the saleslady the bat was an illegal bat (meaning a senior bat) at [redacted]- he told me I was wrong. I said let's just call the [redacted] and he said NO and that I would have to bring someone from there into the store to prove it. I told him the bat was useless to me and what was I to do with it. He antagonized me by responding that I could just sell the bat to someone else. I told him that's just [redacted]. He got righteously indignant and accused me of cussin'. He also took my receipt that day and wouldn't give it back to me. This is a copy from the saleslady who seemed to feel badly about giving me the wrong information.

Bottom line, I was lied too about the bat and made the mistake of buying it in this guys store. There are two attachments to go along with my response. In the sales page the 1st, 6th and 12th bat are the type of bat I wanted. On the letter from the director of [redacted] I also copied his business card and the sales receipt (the only place that said no returns, I couldn't read it without glasses anyway).

P.S. I wouldn't be surprised to see the clearance and no return sigs in the store now.
