I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The business did not offer a resolutionThey are just blaming me for the consoles' inability to boot up because I tried to fix the hdmi port myself I . The consoles ability to turn on was absolutely never a problemI turned my console on multiple times before giving it to themAll that was broken was the HDMI port which is what allows the image to appear on the TV It was not until I was given back my console from game tint and audio that my console suddenly wouldn't turn onThey also mentioned in their response that they showed us the serial number inside the console that matches the one from my receipt of my original consoleThat is not true at all, they tried finding it and failed to do soThey then told me if I wanted to be sure I was being given my console back I had to do that through SonyI didn't mention it in my original complaint, but when I called them once to get an update on the status of my console, they told me there is actually a problem with the motherboard and to fix that it would cost just as much as buying a new consoleHad they informed me that a broken motherboard meant the console can't turn on, I would have told them then and there that they had have to have caused that themselves because that had never ever been a problem before giving it to them. They advised us to pick it up and buy a new oneSo I went to pick it up and my son spoke with the owner to find out if the console really was unable to be fixedHe told my son it could absolutely still be fixed, but I was calling so much that it annoyed them so they just decided to tell me it was completely broken. My son apologized profusely and told them to take as long as they needSo after weeks I called and they notified me they were unable to fix itSo I picked it up and now I have a console with an incorrect serial number and an inability to turn onIf it is not possible to be provide me with a working console, I request at least they pay for the further damage caused

A PlayStation 4 was brought to Game Tint and Audio on 11/5/2015 to replace a broken HDMI port by a mother and her son. They were informed about our 3-4 day waiting period and we'd contact them once we had an update on the console. Within the 3-4 day waiting period the mom and son called about the...

status of the repair. We informed them that we were still working on the console and waiting on parts that we had ordered. We then called them to inform the customers we were unsuccessful with the repair. The son came in to pick up his PS4 and asked us if there was anything else we could do to fix it. We told him we could try other HDMI port and he told us "Take as long as you want to fix it". After a couple of days and several calls regarding the status of the console repair we were still unsuccessful. When the son came in to pick up his broken PS4 for a second time he asked if there was anything else we could do. After several difficult repair attempts we still waived the fee because our goal is to keep our customers happy. We advised him to send the console directly to Sony. Soon after this interaction we were bombarded by the mother asking us why the serial numbers didn't match with their product receipt. This was a huge mistake on our end and owned up to accidentally switching the consoles bottom outer shell with one of our own. We took the PS4 apart in front of the customers to show the receipt serial number matched with the actual serial number inside the console not just the outer shell. We also matched their serial numbers with their true outer shell that’s still in our possession. We proceeded to let her know if she didn't trust our work she should send her console to the manufacturer so they could confirm the PS4 was in fact the one they had purchased and if it wasn't we would replace their console with a refurbished console. Then the customer began to say that the HDMI port that was installed wasn't the original. We explained that it wasn't the original because it was damaged and we covered the empty space with another HDMI. The customer admitted he attempted to repair the unit prior to check in. This attempt by the customer most likely damaged the HDMI port that is soldered to the motherboard or may have caused a short to the motherboard which can’t be fixed. Unfortunately, we can't guarantee any repairs after someone else has tampered with the unit. We felt that we went above and beyond to make the situation right with the mom and son but nothing was acceptable for her. She threatened us in front of other customers that were waiting; saying "You don't know who you are dealing with." “I know your business has insurance and I will make sure you pay. “

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The business did not offer a resolution. They are just blaming me for the consoles' inability to boot up because I tried to fix the hdmi  port myself I . The consoles ability to turn on was absolutely never a problem. I turned my console on multiple times before giving it to them. All that was broken was the HDMI port which is what allows the image to appear on the TV . It was not until I was given back my console from game tint and audio that my console suddenly wouldn't turn on. They also mentioned in their response that they showed us the serial number inside the console that matches the one from my receipt of my original console. That is not true at all, they tried finding it and failed to do so. They then told me if I wanted to be sure I was being given my console back I had to do that through Sony. I didn't mention it in my original complaint, but when I called them once to get  an update on the status of my console, they told me there is actually a problem with the motherboard and to fix that it would cost just as much as buying a new console. Had they informed me that a broken motherboard meant the console can't turn on, I would have told them then and there that they had have to have caused  that themselves because that had never ever been a problem before giving it to them. They advised us to pick it up and buy a new one. So I went to pick it up and my son spoke with the owner to find out if the console really was unable to be fixed. He told my son it could absolutely still be fixed, but I was calling so much that it annoyed them so they just decided to tell me it was completely broken.  My son apologized profusely and told them to take as long as they need. So after 4 weeks I called and they notified me  they were unable to fix it. So I picked it up and now I have a console with an incorrect serial number and an inability to turn on. If it is not possible to be provide me  with a working console, I request at least they  pay for the further damage caused.
