Review: I had purchased two tickets for the 9/28/13 Event in [redacted] PA. The company sent a mass email claiming they cancelled teh event and we were not getting a refund. I am owed $138Desired Settlement: I would just like my refund

Review: I registered on May 8, 2013 or the great American Mud Run for 9/28/13 in Pennsylvania. I paid $65 which was debited from my checking account at that time. I received an email on September 9 stating the race was cancelled. They said "s per our refund policy we do not offer refunds for any reason, to include event cancellation. I never received any such refund policy and I believe they were fraudulent in promoting the race. I don't believe they intended to offer it. After doing an internet search, they have cancelled races in Ohio and other areas using the same method of sending an email to registrants and telling them to go to their financial institutions for refunds. That isn't possible. The bank can't refund money paid to another company.

Evidently this is also occurring in other states. Their facebook page has been stagnant since August and their email says that "While we are trying our hardest to refund all participants, we are unable to do so at this time due to legal constraints out of our control." So now they say they would refund yet before they said their policy was no refunds. They also say not to contact them because they do not have the staff capacity to respond to inquiries.

I feel like this was a scam all along.Desired Settlement: I would like my $65 refunded.

Review: After promising to bring Americas muddiest 5K to the [redacted], the Great American Mud Run canceled the event six days before it was set to take place. The Great American Mud Run scheduled its Ohio race for Sept. 14 at [redacted]. On Monday, though, the company sent out an email to participants and [redacted] owner, [redacted], saying the event was canceled. Yet the emails listed the race date as Oct. 12, and not Sept. 14.Organizers with the Great American Mud Run sent an email to participants apologizing for the inconvenience. The email also stated that a refund for the 70 to 90 dollar registration fee was just not possible. So far, five races hosted by the group have been canceled across the countryDesired Settlement: I paid $79.50 to enter the race. I would like a full refund.
