Ganim Company Reviews (%countItem)

Driveway installed resulting in spalling and flaking of the concrete.

Ganim Company Response • Jul 25, 2018

On May 9th 2018 @ 12:00pm Eastern Standard Time. We met Mr. at his home. We walked the driveway in which was placed on 8/19/2016. The areas in which the top 1/8th to 1/16th of an inch flaked off is evident of salt damage. Mr. stated he did not seal his driveway in the fall of 2016 nor in the spring of 2017 or fall again in 2017. I advised Mr. to power wash & Seal the driveway to help prevent future surface issues. I advised Mr. that the structural integrity is not comprised and that the concrete has a surface flaking due to salt. Mr. did not ask and or say anything after the meeting. He shook my hand before our separating.

The workmanship is not in question by the customer. The product is. We do not make the material. We are installers. We did nothing to cause the small areas to "flake".

To the best of my knowledge there was no warranty. The only paperwork was the final bill and payment which has already been sent. You have my permission to contact the company.

Salvaggi Contractors, d/b/a Ganim Company in this instance, is a subcontractor for *** for work replacing gas lines in Cleveland Heights for ***. On, or about, April 1, Ganim Company began work on my property removing damaged concrete sidewalk sections as a result of initial work completed by ***. During the process of removing the damaged concrete, Ganim Company broke a wire that runs along my property as an Invisible Fence for my dog. I pointed out the damage to the crew supervisor, who indicated this would be fixed. In the subsequent weeks, I received several assurances that the repairs would occur. Said repairs have not occurred to date, causing significant stress on my family and my pet, because we have had to alter her routine and be present when she is outdoors. On April 26, Ganim Company came to my home to repair the landscaping caused by their concrete removal, and I made the worker aware of the issue with the wire. I told him that I would prefer he not complete the work on my property so as to make it much easier to identify the line breaks. He assured me it would be no issue, and proceeded with his work order.

The next morning (4/27) I called Ganim Company, as well as their client ***, as well as their client *** demanding they correct the problem originally caused almost one month ago. Ganim Company indicated they would correct the issue. *** then called me and said they would correct the issue. *** indicated that I should correct the issue myself, then send the invoice to ***. The one inconvenienced in all of this is me and my family, and these three businesses believe the best resolution is for me to again inconvenience myself by finding contractors to fix the wire and repair the landscaping. Then I should send them the invoice in the hopes for reimbursement and without consideration for my time or inconvenience.

I was made aware of this and as soon as I was I contacted *** who I work for. He spoke to homeowner directly to try to resolve the issue. His offer was to have the fence fixed and send him an invoice and *** would pay for it. To my best of my knowledge, that is the end of the conversation, I have not heard anything since then about it. It is best for the consumer to reach out to *** for any additional concerns.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. I have no guarantees regarding the payment of the invoice. It remains incumbent on me to have further inconvenience by having to arrange the completion of the repairs. All the response does is pass the buck. This now forces me to consider legal action against Ganim Concrete and its subsidiaries. Furthermore, I found out subsequent to the initial submission that Ganim Concrete personnel tore out approximately 10' of the fencing to complete the landscaping portion of its contract, actions that I requested not take place until the fence was fixed. The remains of the fencing were thrown into some foliage. I want the Revdex.com to take its most punitive action against this company and its subsidiaries.
