On 12/20/14 at 9:37am, I received a text message from Old Navy that said "Last-minute gift time at Old Navy: Stop in for 75% off the entire store, plus $8 sweaters while they last(this Saturday only). Better shop to it.". This seemed like a great opportunity to grab some last minute gifts and grab a few things for my family, so my wife and I got the kids ready and drove to our nearest Old Navy, which is roughly 30 minutes away. When we got to the store we noticed signs on the windows stating that the sale was "up to 75%". When I spoke to an employee about it, she had no idea about the text message. Another employee, which I'm assuming was a manager, came up and told me that the text message was a mistake and that would not honor the sale that they advertised to thousands of customers. At this point, I would have left the store, but my wife had found a few items in the very limited selection of 75% off items, so we made our purchase and continued our shopping in the mall. While shopping I received another text at 11:50am saying "Oops! We hit send too soon! Get your last minute gifting fo UP TO 75% off the entire store, plus $8 sweaters while they last this weekend.". This was clearly deceptive advertising to get customers into the store on one of the busiest shopping days of the year. If it was truly a mistake, they would have corrected themselves right away, not wait 2 hours and 13 minutes. I will not shop in your stores again and I will spread to word to anyone who will listen about your false advertising and rude employees. The store I shopped at was in Eden Prairie, MN.
