Garage Door Parts Depot Reviews (1)

I am rejecting this response because: I totally disagree with their statements.I originally telephoned Elk Grove Door for replacement panel and was given a quote of $165, then I was directed to contact the supplier to arrange the actual purchase of the panel When I telephoned Garage Door Parts Depot (supplier) I was told yes they have the panel and to come on out When I arrived, I told them I had been referred to them to purchase a 1/foot door I was asked at that point-in-time what size and I again stated it is a 1/foot door, and the door model is I was told the cost would be $for a single panel, and that I could purchase panels for a price of $ I agreed to purchase the panels so that I would not have to make any minor repairs The staff then loaded the panels on my trailer and they. When I got the panels to the work site my son discovered the panels were foot (inches too short) before even removing the panels from the trailer The following morning I called the supplier to report the error The supplier disagreed about my having told him I needed 1/foot panels, the call ended with the supplier finally telling me if we were going to get into a pissing match that he didn't have to work with me or take the panels back I finally told him OK fine, I'll come out and we can get it straightened out. When I arrived the next morning I pulled up to the back door, went inside to the customer service counter, I told the representative that I was bringing back the foot door which was supposed to be 1/foot He then told me it was a special order door I asked if I could order just the panels, and was told no, it is a totally different door, that all the hardware was different, and that I had to order a full complete door So I told him to order the complete door, for which I was charged $ At that point the representative processed a refund for the wrong door, charging me a Restocking Fee of 20% ($71.06) I stated I did not feel it was fair to charge a Restocking Fee as I had ordered a 1/door and was given the wrong door He told me "at no time did you tell me it was a 1/door" I told him why would I drive all the way out there for a foot door when I had stopped at the work site and measured the door before coming out I told him again that I didn't agree I paid the balance difference between the refund and the cost of the new door and left Further, at no time did the supplier tell me the panels were damaged at the time of return; the panels were still in the original unopened cardboard wrap of the supplier.Upon receiving a phone call that the new correct size door had arrived, I arranged a pidate and time; and arrived with my trailer to receive the door The supplier staff again loaded the door on my trailer.I took the door to the job site and installed the door using the old existing hardware that I was told would not work with the new door After finishing the install, I contacted the supplier again regarding the hardware and the Restocking Fee I asked if they wanted to purchase the new unnecessary hardware at a price less than wholesale because it was not actually needed like I had been told, and he said no I then told him I have no problem sucking it up for the complete new door costs, but that I still believe I should be refunded the Restocking Fee, that there is nothing on the original invoice about a Restocking Fee nor did I see anywhere in customer service about a Restocking Fee They again refused my request, and I told him ok, that I would just give their company a negative feedback about the refund on the web.I still believe I should be refunded the Restocking Fee of $from the original order If there is a Restocking Fee of 35% as alleged in their statements, then why was I not charged 35%? I believe there was no such fee, nor was there any signage in the customer service area It sounds very convenient for the supplier to suddenly have a 35% Restocking Fee and that it is now posted on the back of the register, as alleged in their response
