Garage Door Repair of Memphis Reviews (7)

The repair man showed up, and told me I needed a new circuit board and charged $117. It has been more than 30 days and he hasn't fixed it yet.I called Garage Door Repair of memphis and on Tues, 3/13/15 a repair man showed up at my door in an unmarked car. He went into the garage to inspect the garage door opener, spent about 1/2 hr and then told me I needed a new circuit board in the opener. He said he didn't have one on hand, and he would have to order one from [redacted] Garage Door in Jackson TN. He also told me that I would have to pay in advance for the part and for the service call that day. I gave him a check for $117 and he said he would have it there and installed by Tues of the next week. I haven't seen him since. I tried to call him on the phone number he left, but he has never returned the call. I have the receipt if you would like to see it.Desired SettlementI would like to get the $117 back

Paid him to replace both door springs, he only replaced one but billed for both, the one he replaced is an incorrect part for this door.On Oct. 11, 2014 I had a broken garage door spring, he suggested replacing both springs. We agreed on a price and I authorized the repairs. I've been noticing a lot of popping noise when the door opens so I called a different and larger company to come check it. Today Oct 28, 2014 I found out he only replaced one spring and not both, although I paid for both. Also, the one he did replace is the wrong spring for this door. It is way too light duty so he had to tighten it way too tight to get the door to go up. He further hid this shoddy repair by turning up the motor's pushing force as high as it will go. Desired SettlementComplete refund, he is not trustworthy and I don't want him back at my house.Business Response No I relpaced both spring as I was paid for and never truned up the force on the garage door opener both springs were new and what I feel like were the right springs for that size doorConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)You can look at the springs and tell they are different!! One is over a foot longer than the other.Plus they are over-tightened and still won't hold the door up if you pull the cord to disconnect it from the chain. To say this door is properly repaired is an outright and intentional LIE!!! Final Business Response

Complaint[redacted] agreed to replace the garage door at[redacted] in early August 2014. He said that the garage door had to be ordered and asked for enough money to order the garage door. I paid him a check for $450 on 8-6-14. He called me later and said that they actually had the garage door in stock and he was ready to put the door in. He requested that I pay the balance due. I paid him another check for $265 on 8-7-14. I assumed that the work was done, but when I called the tenant. they said that it was not done. I was unable to reach him by phone. I finally got a text from him on 8-26-14. He said that he had been out of town and would install the garage door that day. He did not and has not returned my calls.Product_Or_Service: garage doorDesired SettlementI want him to refund my money: $715.

vendor failed to deliver and install garage door per agreement. On Oct. 11, 2014, Vendor was given a check for $457 as a deposit for a garage door I ordered. After many promises, has not delivered the door nor will he refund my money. He will not repond to my calls, texts, or emails.Desired SettlementRefund $457 deposit for the garage door he did not deliver to me.

I sent the following email to the company 11/12/2014 following numerous calls. I have received no response. I was provided no mailing address for the company. In hindsight this was a warning sign. [redacted] installed the spring and we expected no trouble. One of the springs that were installed broke and now our garage door is not operational. They refuse to return our calls or emails. Dear [redacted], Our garage door is in desperate need of service. On 11/8 we called and were told that the technician would come on Monday. On 11/10 we were told that the spring had to picked up and afterward we would receive a visit. We did not receive a visit or a call to reschedule the visit. On 11/11 we called a number of times and there was no answer on the line. We were promised 3 year parts warranty and 2 years labor warranty. We entered into this agreement in good faith and promptly paid for service and hope that you will honor your word, given to us in writing. Please contact us immediately to set our mind at ease.Product_Or_Service: Replaced 2 garage door springsOrder_Number: 382158Desired SettlementOur garage door is not working. We want to have the spring replaced and warranty fulfilled.

Paid for half of job, took check, cashed and never returned. Paid him half of job cost so that he could buy the part. Said he would back in a couple of hours, he never returned. I called, no answer. He texted me that evening, saying he was robbed of his wallet and van at a Walgreens. Said her would for sure take care of me the following day. Never heard or saw from him. I called and left a message that clearly stated I wanted job finished or money back. I have heard nothing. Desired Settlement175.00Final Consumer Response full refund was made after threatened to report to police
