Replacement of broken torsion spring

Called on a Sunday, expecting to leave a message at the office, but [redacted] answered immediately. He had me leave a text message on his mobile phone with all the door particulars and arranged to come out the next day. [redacted] had to special order the spring because size was not a standard, off the shelf, spring. (Spring manufacturers in Phoenix area are able to make spring in 24 hr turn around time.) His business associate, [redacted], came to replace it and took the time to explain the mechanics of the door, realigned and tightened rail for not only the one door, but for our other door as well. Also oiled hinges and checked balances with both door openers. (This extra service was included in the price quoted and did not add to the $$) [redacted] was good about matching prices of other bids and made sure the job was done in a timely fashion. The customer service of this company is outstanding. Wish more companies in the Phoenix area would follow their example!

The broken torsion spring on my garage door was replaced by [redacted]'s employee. He supposedly checked everything out and lubricated everything. When he finished he showed me that the garage door opened and shut as it should. I was standing inside the garage and it appeared fine so I paid him cash as requested. That same day, when my wife comes home from work, she asks me, "Who put the dent in the garage door?"
I go outside and there is the dent, as big as day. It was not visible from the inside because of the insulation and it was not there before they worked on it - (I have been walking by it for 3 days) but the dent was noticed by the first person to walk by it on the outside. The dent was clearly caused by stress from misaligned door panels. Even before he comes by to look at it, [redacted] begins telling me on the phone when I called him that his guy didn't do it.

His story didn't change even when he did come by the next day to look at it. Either they are grossly incompetent and can't see see a major flaw and clearly a problem OR they are lying about it to avoid replacing a panel or just fixing the dent. Neither liars nor fools will get my business again, and you are now forewarned. To add insult to injury, [redacted] says he would try to fix it at no charge even though it is not his fault, BUT he won't guarantee the results and he won't replace the panel.
"Eek! Methinks not."
Use at your own risk because you will have no recourse once they get your cash.
