ID# [redacted]Dear Revdex.com,The Garden Club Board of Directors levied a $400 special assessment for roof repairs in 2015. This assessment was used to installS  new roofs in the community.  There are a total of 18 buildings in the community with 13 building roofs remaining to be...

replaced. Ms. [redacted] roof is one of the remaining roofs to be replaced.Once I was notified I contacted the association's roofing company,Roofing Southwest,to get me an estimate to repair their roof.  On December 14, 2015 I received the estimates from Roofing Southwest. I met with the Board of Directors on January 10,2016 and the Board approved the repair at that meeting. The roofers had an appointment with the owners to repair the roof on February 1st unfortunately it was raining that day and the job had to be postponed until the following day. On February 2,2016 the repair was made and to my knowledge has taken care of the roof leak.I understand the [redacted] are upset with how long it took to process this project. I contacted the association's roofing company within  days of being notified and it took them some time to get the proposal back to me. On February 1,2016 Ms. [redacted] called me and was not happy at all,but the roofers were already at her property that morning but was unable to perform the work due to the rain. She wanted me to get someone out there that day to fix the roof, and I tried to explain to her that roofing companies don't work when it is raining. She did not like that answer and was quite upset. The roof was repaired the following day. This community has limited funds and I am not authorized to just send out a roofer for repairs without getting an estimate and making sure the HOA can afford the project.

The Garden Club HOA is not responsible for the "Unit"...which is the interior of the condominium.  The HOA is responsible for the exterior of the building and I followed the protocol to get the roof repaired.  I did not work at GVPM the first half of 2015, but I feel like I took care of their issue with the resources available to me by their association once it was brought to my attention.

SInce I bought the apartment on February 24, 2015, I have contacted the HOA by phone and email to notify them of damage of my ceiling caused by a rook leak.  2 months after when they collected the $400 for repairing the roof, I paid assuming they were going to work on it.  Half a year has passed with no repairs, I have contacted them constantly checking in.  In December with all the raining, the damage became bigger and my tenant decided to break the lease or stay if I fixed it.
They finally fixed it a month later, after many many calls and emails and the HOA giving me the run around.  I had to repair the damage and spend out of my pocket $250 for the repairs.  I have asked them many times to either repair or pay for the cost of repairs and no one even bothered to return emails or calls.  Therefore I find them responsible for the damage and for the repairs.
