Review: Elder Serve, Long Term Health Care Program Bronx NY(###-###-####0)worked to get my mom ([redacted]) a new recliner lift chair which she desperately needed. She has severe pain in both legs,hips and buttaocks and has a difficult time standing from a sitting position. Once they received the prescription they place the order with Garden Court. This was a nightmare, working between Elder Serve, Garden Court and my mother's doctor. Finally the chair was delivered (serial #[redacted]}However the chair was brought out without an adapter, making it impossible to see if the chair actually worked. Also Garden Court's delivery person ([redacted])took the [redacted] manual with him when he left. After I called Garden Court complaining about the adapter and [redacted] manual, I was told that an adapter had to be ordered, this was a manufacturer's error. After waiting a few day the adapter was received. At that time we found out that the chair made a funny sound while reclining. It also sped up at a certain point during the recline. Lastly the chair itself is very hard and leans to the left slightly. After specking with Garden Court, and [redacted] returning to check the chair they stated that the company they purchased the chair from (Pride Mobility (###-###-####) refused to change it and would only fix it and there was nothing they could do. We expressed to them ([redacted], Chevy, etc.) early on that we wanted a new chair. Elder Serve also requested a new chair early on. It was extremely difficult dealing with this company. We were avoided by the people that could have help and left to speak with people who didn't know much. Today they changed the motor. It still reclines to fast and is very hard. Every day that my mom has to use this chair is another day she suffers more than she has to. This is not an appropriate chair for my mother medical problems. She can not sit in it too long before she starts hurting. This chair was paid for by medicaid.Desired Settlement: We are asking that a new chair be brought out with more padding, especially in the seat are. My mother has a lot of pain in her knees, thighs, hips and buttocks area.
