Total Design Title and & Flooring completed staining our hardwood floors, install some new ones and provided work on steps that we had installedThis project was supposed to take to weeksAt first we were impressed because the installing new floors and re-staining all of them a darker stainAt times Keith the project manager was not timely at responding to questions, but overall this part of the project went relatively smooth and they did good work
Then the next part of the project was to complete a redo of steps we needed redoneThey used to be carpet and they were redone to become hard wood stepsAt our request we asked for referrals of painters and carpenters they had worked with to complete the rest of this projectThe trim carpenter was greatThe two painters that were referred were something elseThe first painter after many attempts never called us backThe second painter after coming to look at the project felt he couldn't do the project and quit before it ever got startedIn our opinion this is a reflection of them, but not entirely their fault
Here where their companyThe steps took an additional weeks to complete largely because of the poor coordination on their partKeith, the project manager, did not return calls or textsExcuses given were out of town, personal reasons, staff quit on them, already had other jobs going on you name itThen, when given the opportunity to address these many failures of poor communication, time management and poor leadership they didn't even apologizeThe statement was sorry you feel that wayNot even once sorry for the delays, sorry for the miscommunication, sorry my staff quit on me during the projectNothingTo make matters worse, we have two little kids who sleep upstairs and were unable to sleep in there rooms for much of the weeks due to the delaysAfter making Total Design aware of the situation again a sense of urgency or an apology would have been niceInstead, we actually got worse communication or a complete lack of communication on their partA simple acknowledgement of their failures would have gone a long wayIn this case, we just got the arrogance of Keith the project management
Overall, I would not use this company again based on the way we were treatedIn addition, do not use this company for anything related to stepsThere was lots of finger pointing between contractors and often times they would change their minds of who should do what and when to do it
