the day of the sale at this dealership, the customer service started out good. it wasn't til 4 hours into the negotiation that seemed like there were only 2 salesman that were helping about 5 possible buyers including my wife and I. more time passed and people were leaving. then 4 more hours into the late evening passes and "apparently" the system was down. so what all the salesman did is they all gathered into one office watching videos on the computer and laughing and wasting my time. I kept on asking them what the hold up was and they would only say that the system was not up. finally we had went to sign the papers and discuss the trade value and other items. they had taken my trade in and gave me $500 and only $300 was added to the bill of sale. not only that they didn't copy my full address down. after all that damage they said they would write a check for the remaining balance which was $200 and mail it along with the plates. by the way I still haven't received my plates and it has been over 3 months. it turns out that the plates were mailed but there was no apartment number and we stated the full address over and over. also the remaining trade value check, they didn't recall that they would write out the check to my wife and I. this is by far the worst dealership minus a very few good salesman. also the professionalism among all is if they were acting the way they would in a bar. I definitely DO NOT recommend this dealership to anyone. please do go to another kia dealership where you, the customer, is valued and appreciated.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. My complaint against KIA MOTOR on 4 counts: 1-KIA OPTIMA did not function well: The Engine Oil Pressure Warning Light did not work. Because of this fault, even the oil level was 2 quarts low but the driver of the car did not realize it. 2-Unprofessional Service Technician: The service man told me that because I did not change oil on time, the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) automatically turned on... To fix the problem, the technician told me to replace the whole block of the engine. I asked him: “Does OPTIMA has a sensor warning us that oil needs to be changed like all other autos?” He replied: “No, Optima is not like the others!” I asked again: “Are you sure that Optima does not have such kind of sensor? I confused!” The technician confirmed: “No! It does not have it!” The technician was surely unprofessional or told a lie. 3-KIA of Garden Grove said something untrue to make customers lose more money that it deserved: In the recommendation, the technician suggested that I had to replace the whole engine. That might cost us thousands of dollars! To have the second opinion, I took my car to PERFECTION AUTO REPAIR, 13802 Golden West, Suite C, Westminster, CA 92683 and asked the technician to diagnose the problem. After few minutes, he said that I needed to change oil by the best one and order the original camshaft sensor. So I followed his advice. After the technician replaced the sensor, my car worked well again. The cost was $250.00. 4-Although Kia of Garden Grove did not do anything to fix the problem happened because of KIA OPTIMA system, they charged me $119.00.Desired Outcome: For a conclusion, I solemnly request KIA OF GARDEN GROVE to reimburse to me: a) Cost for diagnose: $119.00. b) Cost for the repair at Perfection Auto Repair: $250.00 c) Writing a letter apologizing to me for all the problems I had to suffer due to their unprofessional services. d) KIA had to fix the Oil Pressure Warning Light for me at no cost as warranted. These actions had to be taken within 15 days. If KIA refuse for doing so, or take more than 15 days to correct their mistakes, I need to take some legal steps to protect my rights as a consumer.

Review: I was involved in an auto accident which the other party was at fault and their insurance informed me that my vehicle was totally damaged and that the cost to repair my vehicle is more than the current market value of my car. My employer is 28 miles away from home and I needed a reliable car. I have never purchased a car before as this was my first time shopping for a new car. My aunt referred me to Garden Grove Kia because her former co-worker's husband works for the service department and I had seen on the flyers that are mailed to my apartment that Garden Grove Kia had some great deals and affordable monthly payments on their vehicles.[redacted] the salesman helped me to look at cars within my price range. I decided on the 2014 Kia Soul. The sales manager [redacted] had gone back and forth with me some monthly payment numbers and said my uncle as my co-signer would qualify me for a tier 1 or 2 financing and we agreed to a monthly payment of $298.00 with a $1000.00 down payment on a lease for 48 months. My uncle lives in Winchester, VA and transacted his application information over the phone with [redacted], and emailed a copy of his driver's license to the sales manager [redacted]. At signing, the finance manager [redacted] told me that my monthly payment is now $398.00 due to my uncle's credit we were now in a tier 5 financing. I told [redacted] that is not what [redacted] the sales manager had quoted me. I really needed a car so I agreed to the higher monthly payment and signed a bunch of documents and provided full coverage insurance to Garden Grove Kia. I drove off the lot and blessed my new car with the Catholic Church and my entire family, friends and co-workers were excited for me. Last night I returned my car because I was told the lease was not approved and that they were going to keep my $1000.00 down payment because of the mileage and the car is now used, and that it served as a rental vehicle. I was sad, and humiliated, and was decieved and lied to the entire time. I was [redacted]'s first auto sale.Desired Settlement: Return my first new car to me and to honor the original lease sales agreement that was initially offered and fully executed the day of signing with a payment of $398.00 a month for a four year lease with the option to return the vehicle anytime before the lease expires with no penalties. I would also like for the sales manager [redacted] and Finance Manager [redacted] to ensure that before they spot drive sales the next auto consumer to not allow them to drive the vehicle home until they have an approval

Review: In March 2014, I purchased an OPTIMA, ID: [redacted].

On November 6th, 2015, seeing the tires worn out, I wanted to change them for the first time. For doing so, I looked for the wheel lock in the tool kit but found none. I then drove my car to KIA dealer at Garden Grove to ask for the wheel lock. I believed that some mechanic forgot to put it back in my trunk after they did some services on my car a while ago. Since I purchased this car, I had four services done at the same place:

-1 oil change

-2 thorough and complete checks on my car

-1 alignment test.

When I talked to a representative, Luis Mendoza, about the need to have a wheel lock, he seemed confused and denied my request. I then asked for seeing the Manager. A gentleman came and introduced himself as the Manager. I told him that I needed a wheel lock that should have been in the tool kit as designed. Surprisingly, instead of solving the problem by finding for me a wheel lock, he blamed me a lot! He said something like, “you should do it at 15 K already… you should check your tires…Now, it is 30 K already…” blah, blah, blah… and denied to do anything with it. I got upset, and told him that, as the Manager, he should look into the problem and solve it instead of blaming his customer. If he refused to do his job, I would make a complaint against him at KIA central office or even at Revdex.com. The Manager seemed not care. He jerked his shoulder and said, “Go ahead”, and left.

I got very angry with the unprofessional manner of his but finding no other chance, I had to come back and bought a new set of wheel lock that cost me $54.00 or some.

Writing this complaint, I solemnly request KIA Garden Grove:

-Refunding me the cost of the wheel lock.

-Testing the qualification of the Manager who was not deserved as the representative of KIA. He was brute, impolite, and most of all, did not care about the needs of KIA’s customers. He made KIA’s image look bad in the community.Desired Settlement: KIA should test the qualification of the Manager of KIA in Garden Grove.

Review: At the time of purchasing a new vehicle, the dealer informed me that they can not finance me unless I purchase a $2400 extended warranty contract in addition to the advertised price.

After consulting legal advice, I discovered that this was a deceptive sales tactic. I promptly cancelled the extended warranty with the provider (Century Service) according to the contractual cancellation clause. It has been approximately two months and neither Kia of Garden Grove nor Century Service have provided the $2400 refund. Each says the other must provide the refund. My next step is to file a lawsuit for damages.Desired Settlement: Refund of the entire amount charged for the extended warranty agreement, which was cancelled.

Review: The dealer said I was eligible to be financed at 6.9% and then tried to upgrade me to extended warrantees. I said no, then he said he would throw auto theft protection in for free, and then said sorry it is .45 cents a month. He said will you take that? I said 45 cents a month fine. The next day I come in and he said oh your with [redacted] instead of Kia and the payment changed from 294.00 to 293.91 I said ok and he had me sign more paperwork. Turns out that [redacted] of [redacted] financed me at 2.79 % and the KIA dealer tacked on $743.00 for the auto theft that brought the payment to 293.91. They said they did me a favor and the [redacted] did them one. I do not believe that. They charged me $500 inspection fee? and then $794.00 vehicle theft. For a loan I probably could of got myself. Plus the finance fellow called me a liar that he had talked about that?????? If I said no to everything else. Why would I say yes to 743.00 vehicle theft. I am furious. Can you help? or at least make other buyers aware.Desired Settlement: I would like the auto theft taken of the loan since it was misrepresented. $743.00

Review: Dealers mailing list Kia soul for sale for $9999 with alloy wheels. I called and the sales man said it was an automatic transmission. When I went there they showed me a stick shift and no alloy rims. I was told by the sales manager that I could get a automatic transmission for around $13000 on a star car. I offered $12500 but was told it was $14300. Their sales ad mail was deceptive and a bait and switch. Plus the salesman told me over the phone it came with automatic so I went there to purchase the car. The manager said I would be able to get the car for around $13000 but $14300 is way more than that.Desired Settlement: Honor the advertised offer and sales managers agreement of $13000 dollars

Review: this is my first time buying a car from the dealer.

I signed without all the figures filled in. Stupid of me. After a long day my blood sugar doesn't hold up.

I cancelled optional services and maintenance by Fidelity on Dec 2, within 30 days allowance for a full refund. I still haven't received the refund.

Now KIA throws "Spot Delivery" scam on me with what they call different proposed term, and if I don't meet their proposed-term. They will take adverse action.

Last but not least the car wasn't equipped as advertised.Desired Settlement: KIA can take back that car and I get my down money back which is $5,000 and my traded in car 2000 Prizm, plus KIA will compensate for the cost/fee to insurance and any financial institutes, the cause of my stress and my suffering. I intend to see it through to the end as the way to protect consumer.
