Garden Park Medical Center takes patient complaints and grievances very seriously and has a policy and process for addressing these issues In fact, as you are probably aware, all healthcare facilities are required to respond to and monitor complaints and grievances by our regulatory agencies The patient’s parent is welcome to contact our Risk Manager directly with his complaints at 228- [redacted] We will not respond directly to the issues of the patient’s parent refusing the x-ray treatment, as discussion of treatment issues would deal with protected patient health information, in violation of federal laws As to the issues of charges for our services, our charges are also federally regulated and usually provided at a set rate with contracted insurance providers According to this complaint, this patient is insured If that is so, the prices about which his father is complaining would be dictated by contract with their insurance provider I am uncertain why their portion of this expense is so high, but may have to do with insurance deductibles or copays according to their own agreement with their insurance company Certainly, our charges are commensurate with other acute health care facilities and our corporate affiliates
