This is in response to complaint number *** dated Nov Please find below a response to your complaint number ***• The patient was first seen for medical services on 2/13/• She paid a co-pay of $on the day of her visit• She had not met her annual deductible at the time of
her visit and is responsible for the balance• The balance owed by the patient was $• My billing company sent out statements to the patient on 4/8/16, 6/3/and 7/6/She failed to pay her balance after all these notices• In her final statement dated 7/6/16, we notified her of our company policy that her account will be transferred to collections• Her account was transferred to collections on 8/11/• The collections company sent notices and tried to reach her on several occasions• On 9/15/collections called her and she gave her credit card to pay the balanceThe card was declined• On 9/19/collections called her again and notified that her previous credit card was declinedShe then gave another card and paid only $with the understanding that she is still in collections for the remaining balance of $• Collections Company sent letters and made phone calls to collect the remaining balance of $• Per the patient, she sent a check to our office for the balance of $on 10/3/We did not receive the check until 10/15/The patient should have sent the payment to the collections company (like her previous payment of $50) and not to our officeWe notified our billing company as soon as we received the check who then notified the collections companyThis process takes at least weeks.Our office does not handle collections accounts• Her payment of $was posted to her accountShe was closed out from collections on 10/31/• Patient did not receive phone calls after 10/31/Thank you Garden State Dermatology LLC
