[redacted] has suffered a deep loss which is understandably difficult to accept. From the very beginning it was explained to her that it would take 1-2 days to determine the extent of [redacted] injuries as a result of the smoke inhalation she had experienced. [redacted] was visibly upset and we...

tried to assure her to remain positive and that we would do everything possible for [redacted]. [redacted] threatened to commit suicide if [redacted] did not survive. (The police were contacted to follow up and ensure her well being.) Unfortunately, over the next few hours [redacted] did not respond to treatment and her condition continued to decline. [redacted] was contacted so that she would have the opportunity to return to see [redacted]. Our emergency doctors continued to treat [redacted] until [redacted] was comfortable with consenting to humane euthanasia. [redacted] requested individual cremation and has received [redacted] remains. This service is provided by a third party vendor, not our hospital. It is primarily this fee which remains outstanding on the account. We are sorry for [redacted]'s loss.

Review: Garden State veterinary specialist's performed an uneccisary surgery on my dog. I took him in on Wednesday this week and left him for three days. After being there for 3 days I still have no idea what is wrong with him. They don't know either. My dog was seen by an intern on the first day. When I visited him on Thursday he was crying and whining in pain. They haven't hadn't given his pain medication and claimed his crying was for sympathy from me. They knew the surgery yielded nothing so they took a biopsy without my permission and reduced my bill by a little. I called and asked to talk to the owner who wasn't in. I saw the vet who waited on me that night on a board marked interns. The intern who saw my dog wasn't being supervised. I feel my dog was held hostage and I was being taken advantage of because I'm young and in the military. Please contact me back. I'm active duty military and can't afford this kind of vet bill. It's been 4 days since I was told that someone would get in contact with me. I havent heard anything.Desired Settlement: I feel I shouldn't have to pay the surgery bill since they couldn't find anything and they still dont know whats wrong with my dog.

Review: I took my dog to the Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Feb of 2014, She was bleeding down below. They came out and took her in the back to clean her up and find out what was wrong with her. They doctor came out to the room I was in waiting for my dog and told me that my dog had a uniary track infection. The doctor told me that she took a sample off the floor and said that it looked to her that my dog had a Uniary track infection. Gave me pills and a prescription for Cefalexin. And sent my dog home. Three days later my dog stops bleeding and is back to normal. Saturday comes and my dog is bleeding again I call them back up and the lady who answers the phone says we told you that it could have been a uniary track infection. If she is still bleeding they it is probably something worse like a cancer. This is how they do business, you take a sample off the floor, how do they know it came from my dog and not someone elses.Desired Settlement: I do not want to be charged the 140.00 dollars that they charged me and I want them to find out what is really wrong with my dog at there expense. She has stopped bleeding but is still not her self.

Review: On 1/13/14 I rushed my Maltese to GSVS she was hardly alive her blood count dropped to 8 they immediately put her in the ICU unit and then the Dr. came in and spoke to us. We were very upset and confused as to what was going on. Dr. told us she needs to stay here and needs care. Dr. said it appears to be anemia I asked is this curable we were told 75% make it.. We were very specific and said if she is not going to make it we will put her down. We don't have much money and we have 4 children at home. As we were leaving the front desk person said we need a credit card or payment of 3000.00 to 4000.00 I said how could you charge this amount she just arrived. We had to fill out a form for a CARE credit card and they charged this amount. The next day I received a call telling me that my dog needs a blood transfusion so I agreed to one I went every day to visit and feed her we were an hour away. We kept asking the Dr. each time if she is not going to get better we will take her home and put her down. We were given false hope by the Drs. they kept saying one more blood transfusion should do it. I was very specific and said we don't have the money. By 1/21/14 she had 3 blood transfusions. We decided to take her home I am not a dr. but I can tell she was not getting better and the hospital was just taking advantage of us. Now the bill was 5000.00 as of 1/20/14 by Monday night the bill jumped to 6360.24 we were in shock we were forced to charge our [redacted] 2860.24. We had her on 10 or more pills a day I took her to my Vet 3 times in a matter of 6 days she was so week, two days later she passed away at home. GSVS knew that she wasn't going to make it. It was a scam to keep her there and charge us 900.00 a day instead of telling us the truth. After she passed I notified hospital and wanted to speak to the head Dr. and express our feeling but of course he wouldn't return our calls or emails. We were given false hope and a big bill to pay. Please investigatDesired Settlement: I want my bill lowered tremendously to an reasonable amount. 6360. and no dog that's crazy. The Drs. were very well aware that we didn't have the money to keep her there for a week and 3 blood transfusions later that didn't work. She was put through living hell and so were we. They took such advantage of us and gave us false hope. Just last week GSVS called me to bring her in for a follow up appointment. I was so upset I told the women on the phone what is wrong with this hospital she passed away a week ago. She had no idea. That's the kind of communication this hospital has between employee's.

We took our bulldog puppy there for double cherry eye surgery. At his two week follow up we were informed that the eyes were not right and it would cost us an additional $800 - $1200 to redo the surgery! This was after an initial bill of a little over $2000!! What did we pay for the first time?????

Review: Gsvs On 6/26/14 we had an appointment for an ultrasound guided aspiration. Our appointment was with [redacted]. Two days prior we went to [redacted] emergency dog hospital in [redacted] and they did an ultrasound. They discussed their findings with our [redacted] and she recommended an ultrasound guided aspiration by a doctor. On 6/26/14 we meet [redacted] we handed him our recent reports on our dog. As soon as we gave him the paperwork, he said you don’t have a summary. I don’t have time to read this. If he needed a summary to do the aspiration, than when we made appointment they should have told us about his requirements. He said he had to do x-rays and an ultrasound. We told him this was done 2 days ago at [redacted]. We had x-rays faxed to GSVS. [redacted] left with dog and when he came back he said we should consider euthanizing her. We drove two and a half hours one way with a sick dog to do an aspiration not to put her to sleep. [redacted] spoke with our [redacted] and discussed his findings. We also spoke to [redacted] after her discussion with [redacted] and we decided we should leave. GSVS charged us 155.00 for a Exam Specialist. GSVS charged us 425.00 for a Ultrasound, which we had done two days ago.Desired Settlement: [redacted] did not want to review our two previous ultrasound reports. He insisted on doing another ultrasound. This was not the test our vet recommended. [redacted] duplicated our previous ultrasounds at a total cost of 580.00. In addition, at that point, we did not feel competent in having the ultrasound guided aspiration performed.

Review: took cat with high fever to facility told us it would be between 1500 and 2000 for first 48 hrs. will 24 hours later said bill was up to 2500 had argument they said there was a note someone told us not true never told performed a 2 nd ultra sound without authorization 1st one showed nothing said they redid tests without authorization 1st test were fine at this point they are redoing everything that is showing nothing and charging my account with no explanations we asked how you can do that they hung up on my husband and said they will stop treatment what treatment an iv for liquids they just keep performing the same test I think not to help but to pad the bill. if you are going to do test to rule stuff out it was already ruled out the first time. if they feel nothing is going to help don't keep doing the same test tell us to put the cat down it is only three and 3000 dollars later nothing has changed but the bill.
