The Pontiac Grand Prix *** that Mr*** *** **., purchased from us was sold to him on 3/17/16; his vehicle caught fire on 7/7/Mr*** was a great payer until the vehicle was caught fire, we agreed for him to purchase another car and add the balance of $onto the
new vehicle balanceHe has paid $thus far for the PontiacMr*** had asked Gardner Used Cars to pick his vehicle up and have it towed here; we did not charge him a tow fee for having the vehicle towed inHe then requested us to junk the vehicleWe did so and received $160,we then Credited his account $which left his balance at $We would be glad to sell him another car and we are willing to go half on the remaining balance of $790,49, We are very sorry about his experience with the vehicle catching fire but we are not responsible for that issueI don't know if he still held insurance on the vehicle or if he had full coverage or liability insurance, which may have helped him pay the vehicle offWe try to treat every one of our customers fairly and hope that they can purchase a vehicle from us and get good use out of it, come back and trade it inWe will try to help him purchase another vehicle if he is still interested, again we will forgive half of the balance and we feel that is being more than fare

I don't believe Mrs*** paid double the price for her carWe like to have consumers paid off within two years, making the finance charges around $1000.00, in her case it was below thatMrs*** purchased her Ford Expedition seven months ago, we do sell all of our vehicles as is with
no warranty, but we are willing to help her the best that we canWe do not work on front endsIf she would get it towed to us and leave it we would be glad to take a look at it to see why it is not starting and get it back to her as soon as possible.Sincerely,*** *** |Office Manager

To Revdex.com in response to a letter we received #[redacted] I gave the customer a copy of the car fax, there is no mileage issues on this vehicle. However, there was a small issue with the radiator and Gardner Used Cars Inc. installed a new radiator, the customer paid for the radiator and no labor cost was...

charged to customer. The vehicle was sold AS IS NO WARRANTY.Sincerely,[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Gardner Used Cars is still not willing to help resolve the situation. "[redacted]" did say for me to bring the car in to get the starter issue checked out, but she did state that they do not work on front end repair. I already have an appointment with another place to fix everything that is wrong with the vehicle. It is costing me $1200. According to that place, these repairs were needed before I purchased the vehicle. Also, in response to her response to the cars value, I purchased a 2000 Ford Expedition with 207,000 plus miles on it with severe mechanical issues. According to Kelly's Blue Book Value, this car is only worth less than $1500 in great shape. I was charged $4500 for the vehicle which is way more than it is worth. I am not too concerned on that because I knew buy here pay here lots were overpriced when I purchased the vehicle. What I am concerned about is that Gardner Used Cars is selling cars to people in need, that are in poor condition and they are unwilling to help when a situation arises and blames it on "you bought it AS IS." Truth be told, I would have NEVER bought this vehicle from them if I hadn't been assured that if I had a problem with the vehicle, they would make things right. Also, after I filed this complaint, I left a [redacted] review and within 10 minutes someone from Gardner called me to "make things right." He was very nice and was willing to even come pick up the vehicle at no charge to me and have their mechanic look at the repairs. However, he told me (very rudely) that the ONLY way he would help me is if I took the review down first. I was not asking for my money back, I was simply asking them to repair the vehicle or allow me to trade it in on another vehicle in better mechanical shape. I knew this would cost me more money and extend my loan, however they were unwilling until I paid my balance down to $1000 (I now owe approx.$3000). I still have the vehicle and I am still paying $200 per month and I am getting $1200 of repairs finished. They have poor business ethics, rude employees, and I am not okay with their response.
Regards,
[redacted]

Regards,
[redacted]    They did not tell how things really went.  [redacted] asked me if I was going to get another car from them and add the balance of 790.49 to a new car. I told him no. I never agree to get another vehicle from them and add the balance to it I said no more than once. Since the car caught fire I didn't feel right getting another one from them. Plus these are all the repairs I have made on that car, 1.The motor was replaced by Gardner Used Cars, 2.water pump by Gardner Used Cars, 3.radiator by [redacted], 4. Replaced both front lower control arms and ball joints by [redacted] Automotive, 5. Brake Line by [redacted] 6600 [redacted] Road, 6. Brakes and Brake pads, 7. Heater core replaced. When I tried showing [redacted] the pictures of the car she wouldn't even look at them. Plus I was going through my insurance company about a claim to see if they would do anything. I had my insurance company which is [redacted] to come and tow the car to them the person from [redacted] had the car towed to Gardner Used Cars. He said it was totaled and had to be junked and by law Gardner Used Cars had to add it to the balance. They state in there letter we did not charge him for a tow fee for having the vehicle towed in when they did not tow it in. They said there would be a tow fee and there was no one to drive their truck to come get the car. Here is some of the information [redacted] used [redacted] associate was [redacted] claim number [redacted] used [redacted] Club to tow the car with a payment of 99 dollars received 7/26/17. so I don't know why they State in their letter they had the car towed. The mechanic said he could take the motor and fix it up and put it in another car that makes me think what kind of motor did they put in my car. They say they are not responsible for the issue of the car catching fire but if they sell you a car that has a recall on it and I did know, I feel they are responsible. I appreciate they are willing to take half off the balance, but the title was signed over to him they junked the car they have my money I have payed so far I loss 3 days work trying to get this settled and talk to somebody there. I could have lost my life in that fire. I have nothing now so I would appreciate it if they would just forgive the rest please. There's nothing to pay on I would be just giving them free money. They said they had to wait and see if my insurance company was going to do anything so I don't know why they State, I don't know if he still held insurance on the vehicle or full or livability coverage. My insurance wasn't canceled until it was determined nothing could be done with the car. Why do they say come back and trade it in when I don't have the car they have junked it they have the title. They credited me 160.00 plus took a payment of 170.00 on a burnt up car. I feel I have been treated unprofessional by them at the office. And I feel the balance should be forgiven to solve this issue thank you.
