I left a truck at the shop overnight for front end work. When I went to pick up the vehicle, it wouldn't start due to totally dead battery, a problem I had never had before. The shop put a charger on the battery leaving me stranded in town. I am quite lame, and when I went back to get my cane, I saw that the headlights were on. Apparently the lights had been left on overnight to assure a completely dead battery. I drove the vehicle home nearly being strandad on several occasions because of the weakness of the battery. I had then left them with my car to have the starting system checked out as in hot weather when the vehicle was also hot, it had difficulty starting. They were also to do transmission maintenance. The vehicle was left on Friday. I was very concerned at the lights on damage and went to town on Saturday, but the vehicle was inside the closed shop.I arrived Monday to pick up the vehicle and again, the battery was completely dead. They had again left the lights on over the weekend and again the battery was completely drained, a problem I had never had as I never leave the lights on overnight, much less over the weekend. They charged me $58.95 to service and check the battery and then proceeded to kill it. They jump started my car so I could drive it home, but the malicious intent was so obvious, it terrified me as I didn't know what other damages they could have caused. I had to wait for a mechanic to come to my home to check things out. They had not cleaned the terminals for which I was charged. The mechanic decided the wiring was OK, but since the battery was so old and so completely drained I would have to get a new battery.Product_Or_Service: 2. transmission maintainance, electric checkOrder_Number: 26016Desired Settlement Refund of charges made on the battery system check and battery cable cleaning which so obviously was not done. $58.95. Since they so obviously wanted and acted to kill the battery, they should have to pay for the new one, $149.98.Business Response In response to[redacted] complaint her truck battery was dead and we charged it fully, she had no problems driving the truck home. As to her starting problem on her car she stated that it wouldn't start at times The car was brought in within two hours from the time she dropped it off on a Friday. The first thing we did was clean the battery cables and test the battery which came up bad immediately. I called [redacted] to let her know what we found when I told her it was a bad battery she told me that the battery was tested two or three times and it was good, she said she would have her neighbor look at it because she didn't believe me.The car was left inside the shop the whole weekend no lights were left on, The battery was so bad that it wouldn't even take a charge.After reading [redacted]'s statement she confirms that what we told her was the problem with her car that she needed a battery.
