Review: Around the first week of November 2013 I wanted to buy a used construction van for my business as a handyman. I met one of [redacted]'s employees, at [redacted]'s auto repair shop at [redacted] who told me that [redacted] could help in my search for a used van. I contacted [redacted] at his auto repair at [redacted] for him to buy a used van for me. [redacted] agreed and asked me how much I wanted to spend for the used van. I replied between $2000 to $3500. He said for that amount, it should be no problem. He requested that I give him $2000 as down payment. I said I would give him $1000. He said no and I agreed to give him $2000 in cash. He then proceeded to show me photos of vans he was going to buy at an auction the next day and the one he was to buy for me. The van looked good and in good shape. 2 days later, [redacted] did buy a van but said it was for someone else and not for me. After more trips to his business, finally 2 weeks later he showed me the title of a van that he said he bought for me and that he was awaiting its transportation. Several more days, he said transportation was costing too much and I recommended a friend whose transportation business did give him a huge discount and did transport the van to Brooklyn. But [redacted] once again said that the van was for someone else. Finally after more trips to his business and more lies from [redacted] and his staff, he showed me a van that was too decrepit and in bad shape that I could never be able to use it as a handyman. He said since I did not want it, he would repair it, sell it and refund me. Weeks went by and the van was repaired and I no longer saw it at his business prompting me to believe that it was sold as promised. Then more weeks went by and effective today, 1/**/2014, he still has not refunded me my $2000 but threatened me during our last conversation on 1/**/2014 at 6:24pm.Desired Settlement: I want [redacted] to either find me a good used construction van for the amount he already has as promised OR refund me my $2000.

Response:
Yes, that is correct. The complaint is against [redacted] himself as he was the one who agreed to purchase a van for me and was the one who received the money ($2000) from me in cash.
