Never did get it...
I bought one of Garrity’s holsters on e-bay, it was a “retention holster” that wouldn’t retain as you could remove the weapon with the strap still fastened.
The strap and holster was rather stiff (new holster) so I gave it a chance to break-in. Unfortunately no change so I contacted Gary sent him a video and discussed what could be done to alleviate the ill fitting holster.
I asked about exchanging it for a different design and Gary was in agreement.
Well, that was 5 months ago and 14 emails back and forth with lots of excuses but no holster.
I asked (again) about a refund and last night he agreed... new excuse of “my retention strap snaps have increased in price w/ no ETA available”, funny thing is the new holster doesn’t have a retention strap!
Gary was agreeable to replace the holster and he was prompt to answer emails about the progress on my holster but Never did get it...

+1

I have purchased six or seven holsters - Wilson 1911, PPK, Colt 1908, S&W J frame, a few others- from Garrity, and have found his product greatly superior to any others I have tried, and his service to be excellent. He has been willing to go to great lengths to design and build holsters for my particular requirements (and whims). If you have to wait a while, it'll be well worth it. You either get Garrity, perfect for a lifetime, or settle for... something else. Greg in North East Missouri.

Review: I liked the KQM holsters Garrity offers online. After checking with him, and receiving his OK to send him payment, and his promise to send me my holster in a few months, on 10/1/14 I sent him money for the holster.

He wrote me:

"No problem on paying now if that works for you, for the standard strong side one anyway. My current turnaround is an estimated 2-3 months but I'll bump you up some if you pay in advance."

That was on October 1, 2014. I paid him via [redacted].

For the next 5+ months, he ignored all my polite emails inquiring about my order. In March of 2015 I finally filed a complaint with [redacted].

Not because of the time frame--- I can be patient, understand he's a one-man shop, don't mind waiting--- but because he had not answered a single one of the many emails I'd sent him.

On 3/27/15 he sent me this:

"Mr. [redacted],

I received notification from [redacted] of the dispute filed.

I truely apologize. I shipped your [redacted] a few months ago and hadn't heard from you so I assumed that you had received it. [redacted] has been horrible lately. I shipped a holster to a customer in [redacted], AZ a couple hours south of me and it ended up sitting in a post office in NJ. I had another returned "undeliverable address" and the address on the box was correct.

I will get busy making another one and have it to you within a couple weeks. I'll notify you when it is on the way so you can keep an eye out for it.

Thanks,

[redacted]"

I responded politely, made sure he had my current address, and waited... and waited...

But he sent me nothing, no email, no holster... and kept on ignoring my emails asking what was up... and I'm still waiting, four months later. [redacted] won't deal with it, as according to them, my time for complaint has expired.

Going online, I discovered that this is how Garrity operates: there are many others out there with stories similar to mine. At first he's real prompt at answering your emails, until he has your money... then you'll never hear from him again...Desired Settlement: I would either like the holster delivered within a month, or the refund of my payment.

Terrible buisness ethics , I ordered a holster in March was told it would be about 4 to five months left several emails in August check ing on my order . Mind you they were all replays to originals between garritys gun leather and I so I sent an email from a different address . Got a response at the begennimg of September telling me he was a little behind. Ok that's understandable right? We'll here it is the middle of November still no holster or an email saying look I just don't have time to make your holster. Mean while my gun arrived early so I can't even carry it .lucky for me I read several other postings warning of the same problems so I ordered from another maker. If I ever do receive an email from him maybe I'll give him the same courtesy he gave me . My advice to any one planning to use him should not waiste thier time and go straight to r grizzle leather wish I would have .

I personally would have to say STAY AWAY FROM DEALING WITH [redacted] GARRITTY. he is a poor business man no communication does not deliver products. I waited over a year first he said he lost my order after 7 months when I ordered I was told 4 months , then he said he will get to it right away told me two weeks 2 months later no holster after numorous emails the response his job was short handed he had no time for leather. two more weeks 3 months later never heard from him again a big waste of time

Review: non communication, product delivery more than six months overdue ,5 months into order I emailed [redacted] to where order was he told me he misplaced it . that was 3 months ago I emailed him multiple times no response. I finally emailed him that I was going to make a complaint and he responded saying he had a problem with the finish,he told me another approx 30 days ago emailed him with no responseDesired Settlement: to receive what I ordered so my wait is not a total loss
