I am not sure how Gartman Merch. Services would be rated No.1 in HVOC services in the Oshkosh area as my experience with their service and with the co-owner [redacted] was not ranked that high. I asked this business to check why I was not getting any air in the master bedroom, install a thermostat and was suggested to do a service to the unit as well since the crew would be at my house. I paid for the 1st service as billed on the spot but the conclusion from this 1st service was that I was still not getting air in the bedroom, thermostat was not set up correctly (unit time was not set up, so the heating timelines were off in the house while wi-fi was not set up. I set up the wifi myself) and come to find out that HVOC service was done to the unit in May from the previous owner whom we purchased the house from. I called so someone can come back and fix the issues I originally paid for. During the 2nd service the tech determined that the thermostat unit was defective, they could not figure out the heating issue in the bedroom but suggested that it would be disuse dover the phone as it might me a bigger project. So I went and bought another thermostat and installed it myself to find out that there was nothing wrong with the unit but the tech did not set the time zone on the unit. So over the phone it was discussed that basement ceiling tiles will have to come off in order to root cause the air flow. I agreed and had removed the tile myself so during the 3rd service within 20 minutes tech was able to remove a disk in-between the pipes which corrected the issue.
I was surprised to receive a bill for the 2nd and 3rd service with a full hourly rate included in the total charge. I called the office to try to understand the charges and was told that the owner will call me. Co-owner [redacted] called me the next day but really could not answer my questions and wanted to talk to his techs the next day to return the call and explain the changes. I did not hear back for 2 days until I called the 3rd day to try to get to the bottom of it. After a lengthy conversation [redacted] did not understand or took responsibility of poor, incompetent service provided to me but felt that those charges were justified. I disagreed and he suggested that we meet in the middle and split the bill. I was fed-up with going in circles with him on these charges while he was not really listening to my concerns around my whole experience with his business. He was more concerned about his $200 dollars and tried to justify his labor charges but did not care about my poor experience with their business. They will not have my or my friends and families business.
