I purchased a metal roof and siding from this Company. I have had nothing but trouble and issues since all of it was put on. I signed the contracts for the roof on 7/3/18 and siding on 8/2/18. I contacted Steve Sholtis about leaks on the roof again . He came to my house on Feb 5, 2020 . I informed him of the leak and siding issues we are having and I told him this has been a long and drawn out issues and we wanted everything fixed so we don't have to keep dealing with this .I told him this was the last time or I was going to seek help in this matter legally. He looked right at me and said he understood and this was out of hand with all the problems and to give them one last try. I waited a week no response. I tried calling numerous times, I am now being ignored.! I feel I have been totally ripped off by this company for the price I paid for everything! Nothing but issues. I want things fixed correctly and not have a new roof that has been taken off put back on and has clear silicone caulk everywhere! My new roof looks like it's been on for 20 years its not right. I would like siding that is nice not falling off and have pieces that are cut to short and moving. Not to mention I can't get under my mobile home easily because they didn't now how to install I properly.

Garvin replaced my roof in 2014 (and supplied a 10 year warranty). A leak developed in 2019 and it took 10 months to get them out to "repair" the leak (meanwhile water damage continued to occur). They promised me the caulk they used for the repair would last 30 years so I had nothing to worry about. I had extensive paint and drywall damage because of the amount of time the leak continued. I requested Garvin assist with the cost of the repairs and was told they would "work on it" for me. I was brushed under the rug and did not hear anything else.

Less than 1 year later and the same leak is back! Its now been a month since informing Mike of the leak, and they have not sent any one out. I am beyond disappointed at this point. The leak continues and will require paint and drywall repair again in the same spot. I don't trust them to fix the leak anymore. I just want my roof fixed!

I personally went to the home 3 days after he registered the complaint. I found what I believed to be a siding leak, not a roofing leak. Water was driving behind the siding at the top of the wall and running down behind the roof flashing. I removed 250 sf of siding, flashed the top of the wall and used heavy duty water proofing underlayment to waterproof behind the siding. I have contacted *** every week since the siding repairs were done and he has yet to inform me of any new water intrusion. We will stay in contact with the home owner until we are all 100% convinced that he will have no more water infiltration issues.Best Regards,Isaac *. Garvin Construction installed a metal roof on our home in Spring of 2017. The snow rail placed on our roof is allowing large chucks of snow to fall from our two story home onto our concrete patio below. These landslides of snow are large enough to hurt our children and prevents us from parking in our driveway for fear of snow/ice damage to our vehicles. I contacted Garvin Construction and spoke to a gentleman named Steve to explain that the snow rails don't work as stated, and they are unwilling to resolve the issue.

Garvin Construction Response • Oct 28, 2019

We have customers that refuse snow rail at the time of install all of the time. For their various reasons. We have enough with every roof install to do the entire house. The customers are told that if we come back at a later date, it will be at an additional expense. Thus the protocol is that additional work at a later date, incurs a small additional charge.

I reviewed the file and this situation is different. The customer had us install the snow rail knowing that it was needed. All photos we have clearly show it. I can see that their house will need an additional row of snow rails added. This is some times common in areas that are considered "snow belts"

I apologize for the inconvenience and will get the additional row of snow rail added to the front and rear of the home no later than November 30th, 2019.

They did a shoddy job on installing metal roof & failed to install needed rain gutter. There is a gap in one sectrion of the roof & they just squeezed a little caulk in it. Rain pours over side of roof & through windows onto porch below.

We installed this roof last spring. We got a report of a leak back in May that we addressed with a repair tech. He used a tri polymer caulk to address the leak issues. We have not gotten a call back about the leak reoccurring. We are in agreement that the lower sloped metal roof tying in to the steeper pitched roof needs to be reworked. The caulking that solved the leak issue will not last as long as the 40 year guarantee placed on the metal roofing materials. The repair tech that stopped the leak is familiar with the project and will be the one going out to do the permanent and final repairs. We will need to coordinate with the home owner to have access to the property and roof. We would like to schedule final repair to the home between November 15th and 25th ahead of the likely winter weather that comes in December. We apologize for not communicating sooner and look forward to wrapping all the work up for the home owner.Best regards,Isaac *. Had Garvin out 3 months ago to install a new metal roof. They sent a new sub contractor who was doing his first job for the company. They used the wrong screws and installed the final portion of my ridge vent crooked. After many calls I was able to speak with a rep who had no clue what I was talking about. In the meantime less than 2 days after initial service was completed the roof began to leak from my bathroom vent a new leak that have never been there before the work was completed. they sent a crew out bag the vent it continue to leak weeks later they returned to fix or repair the leak this repair did not work it has since been two months since anyone has contacted me or come to fix the roof I have been given a constant run around canceled appointments excuses of not having correct parts in stock at this point I am worried about mold and mildew I expressed my concerns to the Garvin construction team who all seem to not communicate with each other and replacing employees faster than issues can be solved I have paid them in full our contract states that there is a 40 year warranty on materials labor and craftsmanship at this point that warranty is not being honored they seem to take the nice days to complete new jobs and leave paid customers waiting with leaking roofs

Here are the notes from our system on the repairs. Customer reported no leaks after we completed the work. Customer had leaks and interior damage before the work even started. We understand one of our flashings needed to be fixed and that was taken care of. Please request customer forward photos of interior damage and mold.tyJay W replied 2 months agoJW

SW Customer. Leaving for vacation Tuesday. We have taken 3 months to fix and is livid. Home INS company is going to have someone come out after we repair and do mold test. He is seeking legal action with AG and Revdex.com. Wife is starting an online smashing campaign against us. Pissed no one tarped it the first time it leaked and now its 3 months later. Sending Joe today to tarp. Pissed I would not commit to having someone Friday or Saturday. Said wants fixed before he leaves for vaca and said I would have guys on site to replace the vents and the panels and then was pissed saying he never got told their were panels to be replaced.Overall MAD. On schedule for Tuesday. Joe M is going up today to tarp.

To anyone looking to have work done by Garman roofing or siding. I had my metal roof and siding put on my house last year and it was a total night mare and total headache. I had stuff destroyed and stuff not totally done. And now I have siding already falling off my house, not even 5 months later and I called the contact guy who was the foreman on the job when they where doing it and he said he would stop by and to no surprise he never showed up at all. So I called Garman main office and got put into contact with a lady named Melissa and she has been great and totally amazing, I told her about the siding coming off and about the shutters they destoryed and never replaced. Immediately she said she would take care of this and low and behold she had guys out to fix my siding that was falling off and had them put on the new shutters to replace the ones the other guys destoryed on me. This lady is amazing and we I call or text her she responds immediately not days later. So, thanks to Melissa I would say that Garman has totally changed and now I wouldn't be afraid to use them for any other roofing or siding needs I might have in the future. Thank you so much Melissa.

The job they did on my mother's roof leaves a lot to be desired. It looked good until my husband went up to find out why the water was cascading over the side of one section of the roof. There was no valley installed to join two sections of roof & water is getting through the incorrectly installed section & seeping into room below this section. Also, roof was scratched which will cause problems with warranty.

Garvin Construction Response • May 28, 2019

Customer sent photos of the area in question.

They are using terminology that is not correct for the area they are concerned about. There is no place to install valley metal at that critical waterproofing junction. Rather we use transition flashing where there is a pitch change from a lower slope (1.5/12 to 6:12) to a steeper slope. They had a traditional flat roof that they had not had luck with over the years. Garvin built up the slope to do away with roofing products that last 20 years or less. We saw the deficiencies in the installation and sent repair techs to address. We have had substantial rain the past few days and have reached out to the customer for an update, after the corrections.

Once we know that we addressed the proper area, a final correction will be made so that their 40 year written warranty with Garvin stays in tact.

Garvin installed metal roof on new home in 2014. In January, 2019 discovered ceiling leak in Master Bedroom. Garvin sent a rep/employee who never went into attic to see damage but did go on the roof and work on pinholes discovered in vent pipe. His explanation to me after doing the work was that he placed a rubber-type boot over the pipe to stop leaking Employee told me he would paint ceiling and I had either a 30 or 40 year roofing warranty. On Tuesday, 04/16/2019 I am now told that "someone" painted the vent pipes and therefore that invalidated my warranty. No one has been on the roof other than Garvin employees. I was also told that it was painted "YEARS" ago when it is impossible for the roof to be older than 5 years. They are now refusing to honor the warranty and handle any damage the pinholes in the vent have caused - either in the attic or to the ceiling in the Master Bedroom. It is my belief that if the vent was painted at all - the boot was applied and then Garvin employee spray painted it to best match the color of the roofing. This was not done years ago.

Garvin Construction Response • May 03, 2019

Customer's contractor added a foreign substance to our flashing work. They painted all of the pipe flashings with a heavy paint with out our permission. The paint affected our sensitive water proofing products and caused them to shrink in a manner never witnessed by our company or our manufacturers.

We have not billed this customer for all of our time and expense to fix our original water proofing products.

We do not accept responsibility to warranty interior damage caused by other contractors touching our work.

We hired this company to replace our roof, and gutters. after having to run after company to get work done and damage done to the siding on our house, I will be advising and posting per ALL public media Buyer Beware in regards to this company. Customer Service does not exist. And to hide damage done to a house. ....Where can I find the negative stars to post. Unfair that I have to give even 1 star

Garvin Construction Response • May 28, 2019

Patrick,
Please let us know if there is any thing additional we can do to satisfy the commitment we made to do your work. I still see a one star posted with the Revdex.com. If there is more we can do to satisfy our obligation to your project. Please let me know.

We hired Garvin to replace the asphalt roof on our home and garage with a long lasting & low maintenance metal roof. Work was completed in Dec 2014 over the course of 2 days, and a 10 year warranty issued. Only 4 years later water started dripping from the ceiling of our guest room. Days later water stains appeared on the ceiling of every room in the house. We called Garvin and they requested pictures of the damage and also a copy of their contract,. They didn't have a record of my job since they "started using a new system". Over the next few weeks 5 different workmen came to house to look at the damage. Finally the 'owner' showed up at my house to see the damage himself. I was told the supervisor in charge of my new roof had a grudge against him and hired men that did not know how to install a metal roof. The entire roof was installed incorrectly. Nails penetrated any waterproofing /sheathing. The attic insulation was installed wrong and blocked the soffit causing mold growth. He agreed to send a team of men to redo the roof properly, and replace the insulation.

Two men show up with roofing materials. I fully expect them to start making good on the $25,000 roof we paid for, but they left shortly after and did not return for weeks. I called the office inquiring when they would start/complete the work. Often, messages were not responded to until legal action was threatened . Meanwhile materials still blocking driveway, subjected to wet weather. Garvin sends out 1 or 2 men to do work, then they are pulled off my job to work on another roof "that is an emergency". Garvin continues avoidance & excuses: "someone dropped the ball", "miscommunication", "employee no longer works for us." Finally someone shows up and says "they have to order materials - be back soon ." No one shows up. Replacement of their faulty roof installation remains uncompleted over 9 months later. Excuses, stalling & lies continue ,while water STILL eats away at my drywall causing walls to bubble

Garvin Construction Response • Feb 15, 2019

We have been out to make repairs to the home in the past 3 months supplying additional materials and over 40 man hours working on various parts of the home that we all agreed needed to be fixed.

We understand there is more work to be done and we will reach out to the customer to make arrangements to follow through on this warranty work.

This roof was put on over 3 years ago and we have every intention of warrantying the roof now and in to the future.

Please contact me with any additional questions.

I needed a section of my metal roof replaced. Glenn C and his team of Tom and Josh did a great job of installing the new section of roof in a timely manner. The quality of the material, and the quality of their workmanship made me glad I chose Garvin for the job. The yard was cleaned up and there was no trash anywhere from the job site.

Thank you for taking the time to report a positive experience.

We are happy we could take care of your roofing needs.

SIgned contract with Garvin, August 28th for new roof, windows, and siding. Was originally told it would be 6 to 8 weeks. I contacted them and was told due to the rainy weather they were behind. Work was started on Tues. Dec.4, 2018. Workers showed up at 12:20 to start work and left at 3:15. They said they would be here early Wed. morning, they showed up at 11:20 and left at 3:30. In two days time they installed 4 windows and lower half of house fan insulation. Off Thurs. due to family issue but would be here bright and early Friday morning. They again showed up at 12:00, stayed appx. 40 minutes and never returned. They undid the wires for our Dish TV, undid serveral other wires which I do not know what they are connected to. We are left with no TV. The larger issue is that we were told our contract does not cover the soffets and if we want them finished the price increases several thousand dollars. We stood on our deck and spoke to the project manager and stated yes those areas are to be completed. I don't know the exact terminology but why would we have a job not completely finished. Those areas are part of the house. A reputable company does not start your job then say, why isn't this being done and if you want it it's more money. The job inspector told me if it was agreed upon it would have been written in the comments. Are you serious? We stood on our deck and said yes those areas are to be done with the project manager. Do not contact them for work on your home.

Garvin Construction Response • Jan 17, 2019

We had some confusion with the customer, sales rep, and the contract.

We agreed to do the work in dispute at no additional cost.

Project is over 95% complete.

Customer had some electrical work done to their home that did not meet code. The electrical lines arced and almost severely injured one of our workers.

Electrical company shut her power down. We did emergency electrical work to keep her from losing her power over night.

We believe the customer is happy with all of the work and told us she would take this review down.

We have an open dialogue with the customer and should wrap up every thing to her satisfaction soon.

I am reaching out to you to see if there is any additional work we owe you?
We worked hard to make sure you were 100% happy with your investment. I still see one star posted with the Revdex.com and believe that you have the right to ask more of my company if were not able to change your rating.
Please let me know.

We have been waiting for our tin for five days. Isaac made guarantees for our roof to be here Thursday, the following Monday, and we didn’t receive our tin until late afternoon Tuesday. each day it didn’t show up our contractor made an effort to call him, he ignored his calls at minimum 10 times each day. Our contractor came out and had to pay his employeees for three days of work for absolutely nothing. when this issue was brought up Isaac spoke to our contractor and said he was not being realistic, laughed at him, and said there was nothing he can do because it was “our contractors own fault”. Finally after directly contacting one of his delivery drivers (who are absolutely fantastic) they took matters into their own hands because Isaac could not. This company is a complete mess and unreliable. The boss is rude and can care less about his customers. I would rather cut and paint my own tin than go back to this business and ask them to do their job.

Garvin was hired to replace our roof along with 4x8 sheeting that was damaged by water and all tge soffit and facia there crew came and instead of replacing the sheeting the cut out pieces and charged as they changed the complete sheet they also where supposed to have returned and replaced trim that was installed damaged and put in the kitchen vent that wasn't put back in when they put the roof on and the soffit and facia crew did an extremely poor job replacing it it was installed incorrectly and they have left our siding torn off and our expecting payment infull imeadiatly and have sent an intent to lien on our property before having finished the job

We would like to get this item resolved as soon as possible with the customer. The value of the soffit and fascia work was 178lf @ $12.00 per lf. The total value of that work is $2,136.00. We will mail a new invoice today reflecting the credit. We request the home owner text some photos of the few roofing items that need to be corrected to *** or emailed to ***[email protected] . We want to make sure those small items are corrected in order to honor their 40yr roof warranty.
