Although the customer is correct that his 72 had several leaks we have corrected all leaks and also gave him a car to drive while the warranty repairs were corrected.  Have not heard from customer since the repairs were made.  Did call the customer several days later and he said no leak...

and all was good.  No refund will be given. All repairs were done under warranty and a car was provided the customer.  thank you.Tell us why here...

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Hello Mrs. [redacted] You present some good points. What is not on your assessment is the reason I took my truck to your shop or the conversations I had with ** and [redacted] I never spoke to you or [redacted] in person. I took my truck to your shop knowing I had a 45 year old truck. Your company seemed to fit the work I was looking to have done. Your shop assured me that the work could be done to my truck. My concerns were that my truck was leaking oil and was over heating in traffic. I was prepared and went into this thinking I was going to have my engine rebuilt. I was told that my engine was very clean internally and had either been rebuilt recently or taken very good care of. The rebuild was not necessary.  Your company let me know in order to fix the issues the intake gasket and valve gasket would need to be replaced. I approved and I knew if my engine wasn’t going to be rebuilt, I wanted to upgrade to an HEI distributor. The work was done.My truck was still leaking. It was still over heating in traffic and now was back firing very frequently in which it had never backfired previously.  2nd visitI was then told they replaced my oil dip stick and that was causing the leak. The wire for the coolant sensor was not repaired. [redacted] thought it was loose so he unclipped it and clipped right back on. No new parts, no repair. Also, [redacted] told me that the carburetor he just took off to replace the intake gasket in the previous visit, had the hoses routed incorrectly causing the backfire.  My truck now had a considerably larger leak and was still overheating in traffic. Backfire was gone. 3rd visitI took it back. Then I was told it was my oil pan gasket and rear seal. When I went to pick it up, there was oil under my truck from my truck that ** went out and verified.  I still had a larger leak and was still overheating in traffic and now my truck was also leaking coolant at the thermostat housing cover. 4th Visit I was told my issue would be fixed with a larger fan clutch. My thermostat was tested, replaced and working fine. My thermostat did not need to be replaced. My thermostat housing cover was replaced with the explanation that the chrome covers tend to leak. Mine did not leak in the two years I had it and not even after I tested and replaced the thermostat.  Not until after I showed up to pay for my truck I was told the new fan clutch may or may not resolve the issue. [redacted] also let me know that he replaced my rear seal by placing the new seal in the orientation he removed the old seal. I can understand that logic. He went on to say that [redacted] corrected him on this visit letting him know that the seal was installed backwards. My truck still leaks oil and still overheats in traffic. I am not asking for a refund for the parts that are in my truck (HEI and Fan Clutch) even though the fan clutch was a very misleading expense.  I am looking for a refund on the labor I was charged to not remedy the issues you were hired to fix.I am also including a photo of the HHR and the time stamp of the photo. I spoke to you once over 2 different phone calls within an hour when it was agreed I would drive your company car for the last visit and that [redacted] would be more involved in the repair. I was to be at your shop Monday morning to exchange vehicles and you stated that you were going to have the car ready to go. I get there on Monday. ** pulled the HHR around and walked in the front door pulling his wallet out. He handed me a $20.00 and told me it was out of gas.  I took the photo thinking I didn’t want to find myself in a position where I was aimlessly looking for it in a parking lot. But now, it is to show you I really had to fill the car up in order to get to work.  I obviously purchased a truck that is 45 years old. It definitely needed some repairs. That is why I took it to your facility. I do not have any “additional” leaks. AND if I did, why didn’t your facility inform me since that was the entire point of my trying to do business with your company? I still do not understand how you can say you have done everything I have asked or how you state you have held up your part of this responsibility? I brought my truck to you for an oil leak and overheating in traffic and my truck still has those same issues. I can do these jobs in my driveway and replace everything aimless until it’s fixed. And that is how I keep my truck on the road. I took my truck to a shop thinking that a certified mechanic would be able to diagnose these issues correctly and accurately and even though I would have to pay more money, it would be fixed correctly. Now I have paid the money and the issues are not resolved. Photos show the HHR with time stamp. Leaking Intake and oil leak on drip pan.   Thank you, [redacted]
Regards,
[redacted]

Mr. [redacted]   The year model truck you have was seen by us 4 times.   First visit: Intake gasket and valve gasket R/R Spark Plugs Set ignition timing and adjust carberator Replace Distributor with HEI Distributor LOF   Second visit: Replaced Engine Oil dip stick Repair coolant temp wiring at sensor   Third visit: Replace oil pan gasket and rear main seal   Forth visit: Replace cooling fan clutch Replace thermostat Warranty Oil pan gasket   We gave you a car to drive and did not charge you for the use of the vehicle.   You purchased a truck that obviously needed a lot of repaired done to it.  You have additional leaks.  We have warrantied any repairs that were done by us.  The only thing that needed to be warranted was the Oil Pan Gasket.  We have done everything that you requested to be repaired.  I do  believe we are justified in everything. We will not be answering anymore request for a refund.   Thank you [redacted] Owner

I took my dodg stratus to have it repaired because there was a noise under the hood they checked it and said the noise was because I needed a thermostat, a thermostat housing gasket and something else that he named I didn't know what any of that was, he said it would be $345.00 to repair I said ok, this was on May 31, he said it would be ready tomorrow, I called the next day he said it will be ready in another 30mins. and he will call me, I gave him over 1hr. and I called him back he said it was ready got there and he said he saved me some money because he ordered a part but it didn't fit and later he found out he didn't need the part, and it will be $209.00 (that was 1 red flag) I paid for my car and left, a few miles away I turned my radio down and I still heard the noise, I had to rush get ready for a graduation, going to my daughter house on that same day the noise sound was so bad I called left a message on their phone telling them my car is not fix and it sound really and I will be there first thing in the morning. the next day which was June 2, 2012 they checked it again said it was loose bolts that hold the motor and it will be $620 to repair I said I don't have that. maybe 3 days later I went back said my car is not fixed checked again, now he tells me its because 1 of the wheels not turning under the hood I said well you didn't the right thing and my car not fixed
