Home repair work on contract was not completed , part of the work done was not done correctly and needed to be fixed. they have avoided resolving thisCompany did not complete or fix work done inncorrectly. After a request to resolve issues, they have blamed the worker they sent, and he has set 4 dates to come back to complete the work , but has not showed up. they claim a guarantee and warranty for their work, but when inquired to resolve the situation, they begin to avoid the communication, no call backs, among many other excuses, and clear lies. For them their guarantee is just to get business and if there are problems they appear to sweep them under the rug. they can contine to be successful, so it appears they dont feel the need to resolve their work if it effects their profits. they received the payment upfront and now the customer is being a nusance, is the way we have been looked at when trying to resolve the issues with the work. we are not trying to give their business a bad name , we just want the work to be done to satisfaction.Desired SettlementAt this stage we would like the work to be completed as the contract describes. As well to backup their warranty and guarantee of the work if the work is faulty. Business Response /[redacted]/I am not certain of the problem as I spoke to your Mom in conference with my worker on 07/01/2015 and made an appointment for this Saturday, 07/11/2015 per her request. Consumer Response /[redacted]/We simply want the "Gary The Handyman" company to set a date and come back for the work not completed and done incorrectly. The work which needs to be completed has already been acknowledged and agreed to that they need to fix. Final Business Response /[redacted]/We completed your repair on the 11th as previously stated.Final Consumer Response /[redacted]/(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The work on the kitchen cabinets was not looked at when the painting was done to the porch rails which was completed satisfactory. The kitchen cabinets which were loose and worked on initially were not done to the standard of staying tightened. Other options as in new brackets or cabinet doors were discussed which we chose not to do, but the screws and tightening of the cabinet doors were loose in 3 weeks. The worker left without checking with the family to check the work on july 11. The bill was payed upfront in good faith. they claim on their website http://www.garythehandyman1.com/ "We're proud of our work. That's why we guarantee it for 2 years!" and "We're not satisfied until you are" but the reality is when the customer becomes inconvenient they are rude and do not return phone calls or answer their phone, avoiding by caller ID. The worker missed 4 dates which he claimed he would complete the work. These practices of operation to me show an indication of a planned process of dealing with unsatisfied customers. Even a large company could not stay in business if they dealt with customers this way. Thank you for your fast response and help.

Poor quality work; work not completed. Won't correct or complete work. Won't honor guarantee and won't refund money for disputed items.I hired Gary the Handyman to do some projects around my house in April 2015, a total cost estimate of $2125.00It has been over three months now of trying to get a satisfactory conclusion to the poor quality work that was done and work that wasn't even done but paid for.Gary [redacted] has refused complete work that was contracted, and to correct poor quality work and thus not honor his written guarantee, which is "We're proud of our work. That's why we guarantee it for 2 years!" He has promised to send me a refund check three times, but I haven't received anything. I requested a refund of $215.00 (mortar caulk around house $90 + clean out all gutters $125). It will cost me more than $215 to correct the poor quality work, and to complete the work that wasn't even done.Below are emails back and forth with Gary the Handyman about this dispute. From: [redacted]Sent: Mon 5/04/XX XX:XX AMTo: [redacted] @ Gary the Handyman (garythehandyman2)I've been busy and only now have some time to give you some feedback on the job. On Thursday my husband and I were able to take a good look at the projects that were done. I did make the payment with a credit card, and it posted to my account. I hope you have received the funds.I very much appreciate that my job was able to be scheduled and performed in short order. Much of the work was good, and some of it was sloppy, I'm sad to say. Some extra care was needed. The sloppy work was the painting, mortar caulking, and pressure washing. From: [redacted] @ Gary the Handyman Sent: Mon 5/04/XX XX:XX AMTo: [redacted]Hi [redacted], We did receive and record your payment. Thank you for your very informative feedback, I am going to copy Gary and [redacted] (the lead worker on your job) on the email below; I am quite certain [redacted] will contact you to make arrangements to fix the painting mortar and complete the caulking to your satisfaction. We do offer a two year warranty on our services and we stand by it firmly so please let us know if we can do anything further to make this right for you. If you need anything further else don't hesitate to call or email anytime. Take Care. [redacted]From: [redacted]Sent: Tue 6/09/XX XX:XX AMTo: [redacted] @ Gary the Handyman Hello [redacted]It's been over a month and I haven't heard from anyone. :-(Last week it was pointed out to me that our gutters were still full of debris. I asked your workers when they were here if the gutters were cleaned-out, and I was told yes. I took their word for it. I paid for a service I didn't receive. I'm quite dissapointed. Please call me right away so we can schedule someone to come and finish the job. The caulking that was done was sloppy, and there remains a lot of places that should have been caulked but didn't happen, an unfinished job. The gutters need to be cleaned-out - that means lifting up the gutter covers and removing the debris by hand.Unhappily,[redacted]From: [redacted] @ Gary the Handyman Sent: Wed 6/10/XX XX:XX AMTo: [redacted]Hi [redacted], I have copied both [redacted] and Gary on your latest email and asked that [redacted] contact you by end of business on tomorrow. Call me to set up an appointment and come by the house and you can see for yourself what was done and what wasn't, since the photos I sent you aren't sufficient enough. Thank you for agreeing to send me a refund, since you won't honor your guarantee - "We're proud of our work. That's why we guarantee it for 2 years!" [redacted]From: [redacted] Sent: Fri 7/10/15 1:08 PMTo: Gary [redacted] Friday July 10, 2015 4pmGary:You were at my house on June 29 to go over the projects that were unacceptable. It's been two weeks now since that day when you said you would send me a refund check. I haven't received anything as of today.I can't express enough how very disappointed I am with you and your business. It's a sad time in America when an entrepreneur doesn't live up to his end of the bargain. My experience with you is that you disrespected me, lied to me, and were very unprofessional. Your crew performed some very sloppy work, which you refuse to correct and thus not honor your written guarantee. First-off on that visit, you seemed to not want to hear what I had to say. You also lied to me when you tried to say that the caulking work that was done by your crew member was previously present. And another example of you skirting your responsibility is to say that when gutter guards are on gutters, that the inner gutter troughs don't need to be cleaned out.I have polled about a dozen people. When asked what service they would provide when I said I'd like to have my gutters cleaned out, every person's response was that it meant they would clean the debris out of the gutter troughs whether there were gutter guards or not. This whole process of trying to get the terribly bad work corrected has been going on for weeks, so far to no satisfactory conclusion. When people ask for references on a handyman, I know who to tell them not to hire.D [redacted]From: Gary [redacted] Sent: Mon 7/13/15 7:20 AMTo: [redacted]Hi [redacted], I am sorry to hear your dissatisfaction. I will mail you a refund check by Fri.Thanks.Gary [redacted]Gary The HandymanBusiness Response /[redacted]/I came to your home and looked at the work and feel the work was of good quality. I am honestly not sure where your problem is with the work and can not see my way to paying you for the privilege to work at your home which as I have carefully considered this situation is what you have asked me to do. We all want to get the most bang for our buck and I understand that but as I have thought on this I can not see my way to give you a refund for work that was done correctly and thoroughly. Best of luck to you. Consumer Response /[redacted]/I find [redacted]'s response to be astounding and completely counter to the truth. I've shown his crew's "work" to other professionals, and they agree with me that the caulking is very poor, and the gutter troughs were not cleaned out when they should have been.Things were explained in the emails that were sent to [redacted]. These emails were included in my complaint. He should read them again if he can't understand my displeasure.I'm not asking for a full refund of the entire project, only two items - the poor caulking job and that the gutter troughs were not cleaned out when that's what I hired him to do. These two items are not the only ones that are inadequate, but I'm only asking for a refund on these two. He won't correct the work, thus he's not honoring his own guarantee, so that's why I'm requesting a refund. For those two items, the refund requested is $215. Three times [redacted] told me he would send me a refund; two of those times were in writing. Still, I have not received the refund.Final Consumer Response /[redacted]/(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I stand by my statements.Final Business Response /[redacted]/I stand by my original response.

Had to have repairs completed twice due to subcontractor hired [redacted]. Refused to provide copy of certificate of insurance. Refund not received.I was very disappointed with the work the sub-contractors that [redacted] hired to do work on my house the last two weeks of February 2015. This job started Feb. 18, 2015 and the guys had to come back and re-do the work on Feb. 25, 2015 to re-do the terrible work performed. On Mar. 1, 2015, I had warnings of a flat tire from my car and then noticed on the floor of my garage a pile of debris and nails (including cigarette butts in my yard and garage). On Mar. 2, 2015, I had to have tire replaced due to they are "run-flat" tires. The cost was $250.00. Also, I was I overcharged $150 for extra hours of work that was already scoped out in my estimate for replacing the wood over my front porch from the water damage. The guys replaced the wrong siding initially, but I should not be charged for their mistake.I asked for a refund for the$150 for the extra hours I should not have been charged for as well as the costto replace my tires in the amount of $250.00. I also requested a copy of his certificate of insurance twice now, and I have still yet to receive this document.Desired SettlementI have requested $400 to be refunded to me for the cost of replacing my tire due to the nails left on my garage floor and for the $150 extra hours that was already included in my initial estimate. To date, I have received no response to my email from [redacted] only from his administrative assistance and one voice mail where he stated he would refund me the monies requested, but I have not received anything from him to date and it has been almost a month since I made this request.Business Response /[redacted]/Contact Name and Title: [redacted] - OwnerContact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@aol.com[redacted], We are sorry that you have had a bad experience with us that was certainly never our intent. We are happy that the job is now completed to your satisfaction. We do want you to know that we hate that your tire went flat in the middle of all this however upon discussion with a Revdex.com representative and the dealership where you had your tire replaced we have come to the conclusion this is not our responsibility. In going over the invoice with your dealership they advised they were asked to inspect the tires for nails as part of the wheel and tire package you have with them. Upon inspection they did replace a tire but not for nail damage but because it was a "worn out tire" as indicated on the invoice you forwarded to us. We do hope you will understand that based on that information we will not be paying for your tire to be replaced. You are absolutely correct in the fact that you were billed for three additional hours that you should not have been billed for and that was completely our fault and as of today 03/26/2015 I have mailed a check to you for those three hours in the amount of $150.00. I have spoken to my insurance company as well and they will be sending you a copy of my insurance certificate directly. We do hope this concludes our transaction and you will allow us the opportunity to earn your business in the future.Thank you, [redacted]Consumer Response /[redacted]/Please contact Performance BMW again as this is incorrect. The car is brand new!! Purchased in December 2014 with 5000 miles on it. Tire was not worn out! They removed 2 nails from my right rear tire.I should not have to pay for this repair that is due to your sub-contractors negligence. I will continue to pursue this until it is resolved.Final Business Response /[redacted]/We stand by our original statement.

After paint peeled on work done less than 6 months earlier, contacted them for repairs. Repairs had same result. Not completed work as agreed. In March 2015 had Gary the Handyman contracted to do several small repairs. One of those repairs included replacing and painting shutters on the second floor of my home for $250. In November noticed the paint from those shutters started pealing. They committed coming out on Monday, December 7th to repaint the shutters. But on January 2nd had called them again as the paint was peeling again. The shutters look extremely bad on the house with the paint peeling and have for weeks now asked and been told they would be out but yet they haven't come out. I requested that they at least take the shutters down but they haven't even done that. Also they indicated in one of my calls to them that maybe the shutters(which they purchased) couldn't be painted and that their was nothing they could do. Recently they said they would have someone come out to take them down but still have not had that happen. And yet I see they advertising for 20% discount in mailings on the February 2nd. Despite multiple phone calls and emails over more than month my house looks ridiculous. Here is there email from January 28th committing to come outHi [redacted], Sorry it has taken so long, we are down several people do to unfortunate reasons. I am going to have [redacted] stop by take down the shutter an bring them home to work on so weather isn't a issue. He is going to powerwash, prime an repaint them. Hopefully this will work. Thanks, [redacted]And then on February 2nd they sent out multiple email adverstisements regarding 20% discounts and ability to have someone come out and provide a free estimate. Yet they don't have time to affect the repairs that I have been asking for since the beginning of the year! Desired SettlementSeeking repair and compensation for the ill affect these shutters have had on my home. This has been a very painful and frustrating process for me and they should have to bear the brunt of that. I paid $635 for what I thought would be quality service as they tout being proud of their work. In this last month I have been anything but proud of the condition of my home due to these shutters. Now that I am having to take this first step in escalating them I am asking repair and $317 of that initial payment returned with another 2 year warranty of any additional work performed on the shutters. They have lost the ability to have me as repeat customer. Business Response A week prior to the complaint I told the customer that we would repaint the shutters to honor our warranty as always. During that week it kept raining making it difficult to climb a ladder to remove the shutters, we were waiting for the weather to improve so we could repair the paint as promised. Unfortunately before we had a chance to do the repair the customer filed the Revdex.com complaint. At that point I mailed a refund for $50 which is the amount we charged to paint the shutters the first time.Consumer Response I have reviewed both the original document and the weather the week of Feb 2nd the week prior to the opening of this complaint. Additionally I reviewed the weather for January. First the charges for the purchase, painting and installation of the shutters was 250$ so a refund that I never received in the mail for 50$ is a joke. Second while it did rain 3 of the 5 business days the week of February 2nd there were days that the work of removing the shutters could have been done. More importantly I called them after their repair in December failed also STARTING ON January 2nd. Of the 20 working days in January it rained only 2 of those days!I find it quite alarming that this company is now trying to make things appear as though they were being responsible when that is far from the truth. And they don't mention their nasty phone call after they received the complaint saying that as I had opened the complaint they would not do the work. I find this company very unprofessional and will take further action if they don't close this out within the week. thanksFinal Business Response We have tried our best to satisfy the customer and were unable to accomplish it. We have learned from our mistake and will prevent this from happening again. We are not perfect but our number one goal is to try for perfection and to give our customers the best service possible. It is always my number one concern to satisfy our customer and I will always do my best to make that happen.
