Review: Workmanship by employees was unsatisfactory and I asked employees to leave. Called business owner and requested he come out to see what had been done. An appointment was made, owner cancelled appointment due to a conflict and said he would call to reschedule. Have not heard from owner in a week.Specifics to complaint: Wood floor was installed incorrectly and floor now needs to be partially redone. While replacing tiles on floor, employees broke 1 additional tile and chipped 3 others. Grouting of new tiles was not finished correctly and new grout is cracking. Owners son is very unprofessional.Desired Settlement: I will be requesting a refund of monies already paid due to poor quality of workmanship and incorrect materials used. I do not have a final figure available as I am in the process of getting these issues corrected by using other flooring and tiling contractors.I also feel the owner should honor his word and come out to my home to listen to my complaints and view these problems. We did a job for Mr. [redacted] in 2012 and he had no problems with our crew or the work we had done. Mr. [redacted] had a health issue after we had completed three of the four rooms we had contracted to do. Two years later Mr [redacted] came in our shop and said he was ready to finish the final room and specifically asked for two of the installers who had worked on the previous floors. We set an installation date and the two requested installers started the installation. Mr. [redacted] watched every board being put down, constantly questioned why our installers were doing things a certain way. He interfered with the progress of the floor at every turn. My installers worked with him to accommodate his wishes until the third day of what should of been the last day of the install. My installers called me to come talk with him about letting them finish their job. I inspected the job with it being approximately one third complete and found everything to be more then satisfactory. In fact the install was the best I've seen in 30 years. Mr. [redacted] was complaining about angles not being perfect, minor cracks between the boards. I explained the installation was exactly the same as the other rooms and that there was not anything wrong with the installation. At that point we agreed on a method of installation to finish the work and that he had to let the crew do their job. As my crew was finishing Mr [redacted] wanted some extra things done. My crew told him no problem but they had wet grout in a bucket and had to finish grouting before it went bad. He complained of the new grout color, which he picked, was a different color then the 12 year old grout in the existing floor. One of my guys had chipped a tile taking one out so he sent them home and called the shop and asked that they not come back. He wanted someone to come out and look at what he was talking about and we agreed. We had a previous meeting with our accountant and staff on the same day so we called and cancelled the appointment. Two days later I receive an email that he ad filed this complaint. Mr. [redacted] is the most unrealistic customer I have ever worked for. He specifically asked for the installers we provided. They took their time and did a fantastic job. The work that has been done is immaculate, floors leveled perfect, borders plate jointed into the field floor for added stability, corners tight. It is unbelievable that we have to deal with someone so unrealistic. He has not paid anything for the new work done. We will make an appointment to view the floor and decide what action t take at that time.
