Resident paid May rent late and received late charge as provided for in lease agreement. Resident has continuously failed to pay current balances resulting in late fees. Resident has been informed of balance numerous times. Leasing office is...

open Monday thru Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Payments may be made and receipts given at any time during office hours. There is a drop slot for payments to be made after hours and receipts are available for these payments at next opening of business. We do not take checks made payable to other people and would not request anyone to "sign over" their check for payment. Resident has stated that he is going to pay his balance on more than one occasion. Payment has not been remitted as of this date. Resident has become belligerent on the phone and in the leasing office. Becoming physically violent at one point necessitating that he be asked to leave the office.

I did pay May late, and paid that late fee. I turned it on the 6th. As far as the July payment goes, that was put in the box on the 3rd. They said if that was in the box before the weekend, then it wouldn't be late. They have viewed video footage of this. They said that they still wanted the money and it went up an extra $50. I didn't curse this specific secretary out, but I did cuss others out. I have never become belligerent in the office and have never been asked to leave. Every time I've made my payment, the maintenance has been there. This woman has never been there. Only the secretary and maintenance man have received my payments. I have no receipt for July because I dropped it in the drop box. I paid with a money order to one of the secretaries who has since been fired. This payment was not late. The reason she received it after 8:00 pm was because that is when they arrived and checked the box. If someone has been late this long, why would they still allow that person to remain a resident in their apartments? They have not tried to contact me, just left notes on my door - they have never called me, though I told them that is the way I want to be contacted. My lease isn't up until December and I was going to resign, but now I have to move out. I can afford this, but they are lying. It is the principle. They are going to try to overcharge the next person and the next person for these unsubstantiated charges. Nothing they are saying is making sense. This charge went from $50, to $150, to $200. The last time I spoke with her over the phone, she hung up on me. That is the last I heard from them. My bank statements are the proof that I have been paying. They are making these accusations to make themselves look innocent.
