Review: I purchased a gas fireplace from this company and they installed it 9/27/2013. The unit failed to work properly after running for several hours. The technician was called out to check the unit and it was determined to have two problems. 1. The unit emitted burn -off soot and then failed to operate due to the "Electronic Brain" being defective. Keep in mind this is a brand new unit only having worked for several hours. The part was ordered and I was told a new part was installed and the unit was operational. I was also told the emission of soot was due to the improper placement of the glass in the frame of the door of the unit. To quote the technician " the glass was not fully seated against the fireplace frame. No one was home when the technician came in to replace the defective part. This was done October 8, 2013. After reading this from a note left by the technician. I phoned the company to see if I could get the technician to come back out to explain to me everything he did and exactly how the sooting problem took place. I made arrangements with the office to have him come out the following Saturday. When I tried to start the unit it did not work. It appeared to be in the same condition as before he replaced the part. When I phoned the office back I got voice mail, so I left a message. I went into the office today 10/9/2013 to speak with the manager and complained to them that I wanted a new unit. They refused me and said they would send the technician out and if the part was yet defective again they would replace it and if it had some other part defective they would replace it. I was very specific that I would not pay for a new unit that was not operational. I do not feel this unit is safe if it is a brand new unit and the company has to continue to replace parts. I was told that that is how the heating business is! I paid for a new unit to be installed and work properly. I want them to replace this unit with one that works or refund my moneyDesired Settlement: Give me what I paid for. A new unit that is operational or refund my money!
