Review: I was scheduled for a colonoscopy on Friday, June 21st. On Thursday June 20th after I had already began the prep, I received a phone call from the practice stating I would have to pay $866.27 out of my pocket before the procedure. They should have given me more notice so I could contact my insurance company for clarification. I followed up with my insurance company, [redacted], after the procedure and they said this was not correct, my procedure was covered. I checked my claim status a few days later and [redacted] did indeed pay for the entire procedure. I called [redacted] in Billing on two separate occasions and left messages both times about my concern of the double payment. [redacted] did not return my calls until 3 or 4 days later. She said the insurance had not yet paid them and it would take two weeks for me to be reimbursed once they received payment from the insurance company. I told [redacted] this was unacceptable and I had other medical bills to pay. She said she would request an expedited reimbursement to me. I told her I was going to file a complaint with the Revdex.com and she chuckled and challenged me to do so . It has been four weeks since the procedure I still have not received reimbursement nor has [redacted] returned my latest phone call. They have been double paid and I believe this is an unethical collection practice.Desired Settlement: Immediate reimbursement to my credit card so I can pay my other bills and an apology.
