Please accept this
as confirmation that we are in receipt of your complaint to the
Better Business...

Bureau regarding billing and collection issues.  We
sincerely apologize for the misunderstandings and frustration that this situation
has caused you.  It is our goal to provide customers with prompt and
efficient service; in your case, we failed to do so.
Your account had been
stopped on 12-9-15, and you did pay the outstanding amount due as you indicated
in your complaint. When that payment was applied to your account, our system
generated an automatic restart which resulted in continued delivery and accrued
charges. This was completely our error, and again, we apologize.
As requested, a credit
has been placed on your account in the amount of $43.10 which brings the
account to a zero balance. Should you receive any additional bills, please
disregard them. In addition, we have placed a Do Not Call on your account. We
hope this is agreeable to you, and shows our continued commitment to our
subscribers.

collection issues. Ms. [redacted] consistently pays her bill, and it was recently brought to her attention that the Columbus Dispatch provides Premium Editions throughout the year, for which the subscriber is charged.  These Premium editions are published to provide additional information and value. Full details on premium editions are on subscriber invoices and on our website dispatch.com/termsofsale.  Ms. [redacted] was upset that she had paid her bill for 13 weeks, and that the subscription length had shortened due to the Premium Edition charges. Her first concern was that she wanted her subscription “paid through” date to remain at what it originally was when she first paid, and she also requested to be excluded from the premium charges. In reviewing Ms. [redacted]’s account, these two requests had already been entered on her account when she spoke with a customer service representative on 8-31-17.  Ms. [redacted] also stated she would like to see details of any price change information noted on the front of the invoices, as opposed to the back. She mentioned some other suggestions in her complaint as well, and these have been forwarded to the proper departments to review. At this time Ms. [redacted]'s desired settlement has been met to the best of our ability. While we cannot change the billing invoices, we have excluded her account from all future Premium Charges, and have confirmed that credit has been applied to her account to honor the  9-17-17 expiration date as requested. The policy of the
Columbus...

Dispatch is that we no longer provide credit for vacations less than
30 days. We do offer the option of having your papers held while you are away
and delivered upon your return.  The reason for the continued charge is
that your subscription includes unlimited digital access that you can access
from a computer, tablet or mobile device so you can stay up to date on your
entire hometown, national and international news.
That being said, we do
understand that not all subscribers utilize this feature, and we will be happy
to credit your account for the time period you were away. Using the dates you
provided, February 3, 2016 through February 27, 2016, we have applied $18.97 to
your account. This brings your new “paid through” date to 06-11-16.
We hope this is
satisfactory to you and shows our continued commitment to customer
satisfaction. We appreciate your alerting us to your concern, and giving us the
opportunity to resolve it.
