I was at this gas station this morning and I purchased both gas and about $in drinks and foodI also grabbed about seven napkinsMy daughter is and so I always need to be preparedAnd sure enough as I started to leave the gas station my daughter spilled her milk all over the car and in the commotion also dropped her donuts we had just boughtSo I went back into the gas station to buy another package of donuts and grab another seven or so napkins to clean up the messBefore I could approach the counter, I heard the old woman behind the counter yell, "sir, you can't keep taking napkins" At which time I approached the counter and said that I was sorry but my daughter had just an accident in the car and spilled her milkThe old woman said in a gruff and honestly somewhat mean voice, "well you should have asked me and I would have given you a paper towel." Now the younger counter girl who was standing beside her looked shocked that the old woman was treating me this way and kept mouthing "I'm sorry " to meI then reached in my pocket and pulled out the only bill I had in there (a five) and placed it on the counter on the other side of her cash register and said "you know what, here is some money for the napkins and I'm sorry" Now after I did that, the old woman got a scowl on her scrunched up angry face and said "I'm not selling you these donutsyou are too rude!" The young woman next to her, put her hands up to her mouth and looked mortified that this was happeningI asked how I was rude and she said "because you threw the money on the counter" which of course I hadn't as I said and as the younger counter girl could see as well, but the old woman just too upset and needed to lash out was all I could gather from itShe just kept refusing to sell them to me and so I left speechlessThe whole time the younger clerk just kept mouthing "I'm so sorry to me" as I turned and walked outI've never been refused service before and never treated so horribly or with such disrepectI'm fairly certain this is privately owned which is the only reason I can figure that the woman felt so entitledI have heard others say they have had similar rough experiences in there but didn't think much of it before but now I'm starting to see what they were sayingI would just tell people to stay away from this kind of establishment at all costs! I was at this gas station this morning and I purchased both gas and about $10 in drinks and food. I also grabbed about seven napkins. My daughter is 4 and so I always need to be prepared. And sure enough as I started to leave the gas station my daughter spilled her milk all over the car and in the commotion also dropped her donuts we had just bought. So I went back into the gas station to buy another package of donuts and grab another seven or so napkins to clean up the mess. Before I could approach the counter, I heard the old woman behind the counter yell, "sir, you can't keep taking napkins" At which time I approached the counter and said that I was sorry but my daughter had just an accident in the car and spilled her milk. The old woman said in a gruff and honestly somewhat mean voice, "well you should have asked me and I would have given you a paper towel." Now the younger counter girl who was standing beside her looked shocked that the old woman was treating me this way and kept mouthing "I'm sorry " to me. I then reached in my pocket and pulled out the only bill I had in there (a five) and placed it on the counter on the other side of her cash register and said "you know what, here is some money for the napkins and I'm sorry" Now after I did that, the old woman got a scowl on her scrunched up angry face and said "I'm not selling you these donuts. you are too rude!" The young woman next to her, put her hands up to her mouth and looked mortified that this was happening. I asked how I was rude and she said "because you threw the money on the counter" which of course I hadn't as I said and as the younger counter girl could see as well, but the old woman just too upset and needed to lash out was all I could gather from it. She just kept refusing to sell them to me and so I left speechless. The whole time the younger clerk just kept mouthing "I'm so sorry to me" as I turned and walked out. I've never been refused service before and never treated so horribly or with such disrepect. I'm fairly certain this is privately owned which is the only reason I can figure that the woman felt so entitled. I have heard others say they have had similar rough experiences in there but didn't think much of it before but now I'm starting to see what they were saying. I would just tell people to stay away from this kind of establishment at all costs! There are two other gas stations just down the street. Shop at those.
